ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT TEXAS STREET BETWEEN
MONROE AND JENNINGS STREETS BE VACATED, ABANDONED
AND CLOSED; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That Texas Street between Monroe and Jennings Streets
be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently
vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or
character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

The Public Works Department has requested the City Council to vacate Texas
Street between Monroe and Jennings Streets. Texas Street will be relocated
to the south and connect with Jennings Street.
This request is being made to improve traffic circulation and also to expand
the area of the Municipal Office Building site.
City Departments and private utility companies have reviewed the subject
request and have voiced no objection to the proposed vacation.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed subject request and recommends adop-
tion of an ordinance that has been prepared vacating the public right-of-
way.
Recommendation
It is recommended that City Council adopt an ordinance vacating the right-
of-way as requested.
