ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE GRANTING TO THE POST DI-
RECTORY COMPANY OF TEXAS, ITS SUCCESSORS, AND
ASSIGNS FOR A LIMITED TIME, THE RIGHT AND EASE-
MENT TO MAINTAIN AND TO AFFIX TO LIGHT STAN-
DARDS, AND OTHER CONVENIENT OBJECTS ALONG THE
STREETS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS,
METAL BOXES CONTAINING PRINTED CLASSIFIED
BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL DIRECTORIES OF THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE USE, WITHOUT COST,
OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND PROVIDING THE
CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SUCH RIGHT, EASEMENT,
AND FRANCHISE IS GRANTED, AND PROVIDING THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE SHALL BE IN FORCE AND EFFECT
FROM AND AFTER ITS PASSAGE.
WHEREAS, the "Post Directory Company of Texas" de-
sires to affix to light standards, posts, or other convenient
objects along the streets of the City of Fort worth, metal
boxes or cases approximately 2 x 8 x 20 inches in dimension,
each of such boxes to contain a printed, classified business
and professional directory of the City of Fort north for the
use of the publie without cost, each- directory to eewtain-#.he
following information.
1. A brief sketch of the history of the City of
Fort worth, its aims and ideals; features of special achieve-
ments, and points of interest.
2. Complete and up-to-date maps of the City showing
all streets and street car lines.
3. Full and complete information regarding all
street car lines, interurban lines, bus lines, railway and
airplane lines and depots.
4. Full and complete information regarding all city
parks, play grounds, and amusement parks.
5. Full and complete list of all public officials.
6. A full and complete list of all public build-
ings, and all business buildings.
7. A complete, authentic, and thoroughly classified
list of all business and professional firms.
8. Complete information regarding street signals,
and municipal traffic rules and regulations; and
WHEREAS, such directories are to be available to
the general public at all hours of the day; and
WHEREAS, such directories will give local citizens
valuable information at all hours of the day, and will assist
visitors in obTAining authentic information without delay or
inconvenience; and
WHEREAS, such service is to be furnished to the pub-
lic without cost to the public or to the City of Fort Worth,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1: The Post Directory Company of Texas, its
successors and assigns, is hereby granted the right and ease-
ment, for a period of five years beginning May 1, 1930 and end-
ing may 1, 1935, to affix to light standards, posts, and other
convenient objects along the streets and highways of the City
of Fort worth, Texas, metal boxes containing printed, classified
business and professional directories of the City of Fort worth
for the use of the public, without charge to the public and
without cost to the City of Fort worth. The information con-
tained in such directories is to,be kept up-to-date, that is
to say, it is to be revised and amended at least once each year.
Section 2: This right and authorization is grant-
ed subject to the condition that the grantee herein shall at
the request of the City of Fort worth remove any of such metal
boxes containing such directories whenever it is necessary to
repair any light standard or to paint the same, and such re-
moval shall be done at the cost of the Post Directory Company
of Texas, its successors or assigns; and on the further con-
dition that grantee shall remove all such metal boxes at the
cost of grantee at any time requested by the City Council of
the City of Fort worth, provided notice of removal must be
given grantee at least six months prior to such request for
permanent removal.

Section 3: This ordinance is to be in force and
effect from and after its passage, and it is so enacted.
