CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MEETING

With a quorum of the City Council Members present,Mayor Pro tern Jordan called the
Fort Worth City Council Work Session to order at 3:01 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17,
2019, in City Council Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas
Street, Fort Worth, Texas.
1. Report of the City Manager - David Cooke, City Manager
a. Changes to the City Council Agenda
M&C 19-403 will be withdrawn from the Consent Agenda and brought back at a later
date.

b. Upcoming and Recent Events
City Manager David Cooke announced:
Jubilee Theater will be performing a couple of songs in Council Chambers at 6:45 p.m.
and one at the beginning of the Council Meeting.
Tuesday, December 24th and December 31 st Council meetings are cancelled. The
next Council meeting scheduled is on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020.
Most city offices, including City Hall, will be Closed on Wednesday, December 25th
for the Christmas Holiday and Wednesday, January 1 st for the New Year Holiday.
Emergency services will be available as usual.
Garbage pickup will follow the holiday schedule and normal pickups will resume on
January 6th.
Starting in January the Work Session and Council Meeting will be streamed on the
City's Facebook page. This will be in addition to the current live video stream and the
ability- to watch from your computer.
Cannon Henry, Chair of the MLK, Jr./Juneteenth Employee Committee shared the
upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration activities.
c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s)
Brian Dickerson, Human Resources Director, introduced Neena Kovuru, Assistant
Director for Talent Acquisition and HRIS Records.
Assistant City Manager Valerie Washington announced that Theresa Ewing will be
retiring on Friday December 20, 2019.

4. Presentation of the City of Fort Worth's Proposed 2020 Federal Legislative
and Administrative Agenda- T J Patterson,Jr., Government Relations and Kasey
Pipes, Corley Pipes Consulting
T.J. Patterson, Governmental Relations and Kasey Pipes, Corley Pipes Consulting
presented the proposed 2020 Federal Legislative and Administrative agenda. There will
be a resolution for action on the January 7, 2020, Council agenda.

5. Update on the Fort Worth Police Department National Initiative for Building
Community Trust & Justice—Charlie Ramirez, Police
Assistant Chief Charlie Ramirez, Police, updated the Council on the National Initiative for
BUilding Community Trust & Justice.
6. Update on MyFW—Michelle Gutt and Sharon Gamble, Communications and
Public Engagement
Michelle Gutt and Sharon Gamble, Communications and Public Engagement, provided
and update on the MyFW app use and statistics.
7. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports
There were no requests for future agenda items.
8. Executive Session (CITY COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY HALL,
ROOM 290) - SEE ATTACHMENT A
There being no further business to come before the City Council Mayor Pro tem Jordan
adjourned the meeting a 4:41 p.m.
