AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND ANNEX-
ING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACE'N'T TO THE CITY OF TEX.
FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED
IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORD-
ANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII
OF THE CITY CHARTER; AND PRESCRIBING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of
Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made
an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in
Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEING a tract of land north of the City of Fort Worth, and
lying in the S. A. & M. G. R.R., David Odum and W. B. Tucker
(North) Surveys.
BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth city
limit line, in the westerly right of way line of U. S. Highway
No. 81, at its intersection with the southerly right of way line
of the G. C. & S. F. R.R. Co. spur track to the Trinity Portland
Cement Plant;
THENCE north, crossing said spur track and U. S. Highway
No. 81 to a point in the westerly right of way line of the G. C.
& S.F. main line;
THENCE in a northerly direction along the westerly right
of way line of the G. C. & S. F. main line to its intersection
with the south line of the E. Jones Survey;
THENCE east along the south line of the E. Jones Survey
to and then along the south line of the James Huie Survey to
its southeast corner, in Blue Mound Road (Farm to Market Highway
No. 156);
THENCE north along the east line of the James Huie Survey
to its northeast corner;
THENCE east to a point in the southwesterly right of way
line of the Fort Worth & D. Ry. Co.; being the city limit line
of the Town of Saginaw;
THENCE southeasterly, and southwesterly along the right of
way line of the Fort Worth & D. Ry. Co.; and the Saginaw city
limit line, and continuing west, along said Fort Worth & D. Ry.
Co. right of way and the Saginaw city limit line to the most
western point of the Saginaw city limit line, approximately 1445
feet west from the middle of Blue Mound Road (Farm to Market
Highway No. 156);
THENCE south along said Saginaw city limit line to its
intersection with the south line of said Fort Worth & D. Ry. Co.
right of way;
THENCE east along the south line of said Fort Worth & D.
Ry. Co. right of way, and the Saginaw city limit line, to its
intersection with the present City of Fort Worth city limit line,
in the east line of Blue Mound Road (Farm to Market Highway No.
156);
THENCE south, east, south, west, north, northwesterly, and
easterly along the present City of Fort Worth city limit line to
the place of beginning and containing approximately 1.0 square
mile.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in the Fort Worth Star
Telegram, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance
with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and
effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty
(30) days from the date of its publication, as aforesaid, and it is so
ordained.
Presented and passed on first reading Friday, the 3rd day of October,
1958.
