AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5, ARTICLE 7 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 1985, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE WAY AND MANNER IN
WHICH ELECTRIC WIRES AND APPARATUS SHALL BE INSTALLED;
PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF PERMIT FEES; PRESCRIBING A
SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRIC WIRING
AND APPARATUS; REPEALING ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HFJ0gITH; DESIGNATING A SAVING CLAUSE; PHDVID-
ING A FINE OF NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS ($200,00)
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, AND THAT EACH DAYIS VIOLATION
SHALL CONSTITUTE A SEPARATE OFFENSE; AND MAKING THIS ORDI-
NANCE EFFECTIVE FROM AND AFTER THE DATE OF ITS PASSAGE AND
PUBLICATION AS REQUIRED BY LAW,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That Article 7 of Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1995 shall hereafter
read as follows:
Article 7. Permit Inspection Fees.
The fees to be charged for inspections of any electrical
work in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, shall be as follows;
and shall be paid at the office of the Electrical Inspector
before work is commenced.
(a) For from 1 to 10, switch, receptacle, or light out-
lets, old or new, $1.50; for each additional outlet from 10
to 100, $0.10; for each additional outlet over 100, $0,05;
for services installed in connection with outlets or other
wiring for 30 amperes capacity, $0.75; for 60 amperes, $1.00;
for 10D amperes, $1.50; for services over and above 100 am-
peres, $2,00,
(b) For electric fixtures from 1 to 10, $1,50 and for
each additional fixture, $0.10; electrical fixtures shall
include all types of permanently installed lighting recep-
tacles, ceiling fans and gas filled strip lighting; each
unit of gas filled strip lighting being considered as a
separate fixture.
(c) For electric motors up to and including 3/4 H.P.,
$0.75 each.
(d) For electric motors from 3/4 H.P. to and including
5 H.P,, $1.50 each; for electric motors from 5 H.P. up to
and including 15 H.P., $3.00 each; for all electric motors
in excess of 15 H.P., $4,00 each.
(e) For electric generators, including switch boards
and excitors not in excess of 10 K,W,, $5.00 eachZ for
generators in excess of 10 K.W., $10,00 each,
(f) For electric signs, $0.50 per circuit for the first
four circuits; $0.25 per circuit for all electric sign cir-
cuits thereafter; for connection of electric signs, 31,00;
for neon strip and outline lighting, $1.00. for the first
circuit and $0.50 for each additional circuit.

(g) For motion picture projection machines, $2.00 each;
for rectifiers, $1.50 each; for motion picture sound appara-
tus, including the complete circuit, pick-up devices, sound
panel and speakers, $5.00 each; for spot lights when permanent-
ly installed, $1.00 each.
(h) For electric ranges, $1.50 each.
(i) For transformer type welders or plug receptacles for
welders, $1.50 for each outlet,
(j) For inspection of repair work where no additional out-
lets are added, $1.00.
(k) For changing, extending, or relocating the service
equipment when not in excess of 30 ampereq,$1.00; for over
30 amperes but not in excess of 60 amperes, $1.50; for more
than 60 amperes but not in excess of 100 amperes, $2.00;
for more than 100 amperes, $3.00 each.
(1), For the inspection of electrical apparatus for which
no fee is herein otherwise provided, a fee of $2.00 shall
be charged; for reinspection of wiring having twice been re-
jected by the Electrical Inspector as not meeting regulation
requirements, a fee of $1.50 shall be charged.
(a) If the office of the Electrical Inspector is not noti-
fied within 72 hours (Sundays and Legal Holidays excepted)
after a specific job is started, an investigation fee of $2.00
shall be charged.
(n) A separate permit shall be required for each separate
store space in store buildings; a separate permit shall be
required for each separate service in residential buildings
such as apartments.
SECTION II.
Any person, firm, company or corporation, its agents, servants or
employees, violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon
conviction thereof, be fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars
($200.00), and each dayts violation thereof shall be and is hereby declared
to be a distinct and separate offense and punishable as such.
SECTION III.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances heretofore passed by the
City Council of the City of Fort Worth that are in conflict with the fore-
going provisions of this ordinance shall be void and of no further force and
effect.
SECTION IV.
Should any section, clause or provision of this ordinance be de-
clared by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such shall in
no way affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any part thereof
other than the part so declared to be invalid.
SECTION V.
That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date it is adopted and published as required by law.
