HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 1062 ORDINANCE 170. /D/60 v/ AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING FORD STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH AS A PUBLIC STREET OR HIGHWAY. -------------- BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, that: WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of the City of Fort Worth a petition in words and figures as follows, to-wit: "To te Honorable Mayor and Board of Oommissioners of the City of Fort Worth: We, the undersigned, constituting the major- ity of the property owners along both sides of Ford Street, between the Trinity River and Bridge Street in the City of Fort Worth, do hereby respectfully pe- tition your Honorable Body to pass an ordinance clos- ing said Ford Street and Abandoning the same as a public street in said City. And it appearing to the Oity Council that the property owners adjacent to both sides of said Ford Street have jointed in the petition for the closing of the same and that said Street is no longer useful or necessary for highway, street or public purposes, and its further continuance and use serves no usa-fnl pubilia purpose; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fort Worth that Ford Street extending from the Trinity River to what was heretofore known as Bridge Street as shown upon the maps and plats of the City of Port Worth be, and the same is hereby abandoned and abolished as a street and high- way, and the same is hereby ordered to be closed and vacated as a public highway, street and roadway, and the adjacent owners thereto are hereby granted permission and authority to subject the same to use for their own private purposes.
