HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5661 ORDINANCE NO. -5 661- AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE RIGHT OF WAY HERETO- FORE DEDICATED AS A CUL-DE-SAC FOR BURTON STREET WHICH EXTENDS INTO LOTS 7 AND 8, BLOCK 6-F., AND LOTS 9 AND 10, BLOCK 7-R, SAN ROB ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, AND WHICH IS IN EXCESS OF A FULL FIFTY FOOT DEDICATED RIGHP OF WAY FOR BURTON STREET, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSEDs PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS# SECTION 1. That the right of way heretofore dedicated as a cul-de- sac for Burton Street which extends into Lots 7 and 8, Block 6-R and Lots 9 and 10, Block 7-R, San Roe Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and which is in excess of a full fifty-foot dedicated right of way for Burton Street, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or char- acter whatever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said portions of said right of way in excess of a fifty-foot dedicated right of way for Burton Street is here- by released and shall revert to the adjacent ownersof the fee as pxovided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect fray and after the date of its passage. The owners of lot 7, block 6-R and lots 9 and 10, block 7-R do not object to the proposed vacation. Burton Street has been extended to the west thereby eliminating the need for the cul-de-sac. The cul-de-sac was never constructed.- Private utility companies and the City departments have reviewed the request and do not object to the proposed vacation. The City Plan Commission has re- viewed the request and recommends adoption of the ordinance that has been pre- pared vacating the cul-de-sac as requested.
