AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE EAST-WEST ALLEY
IN BLOCK 20, CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, FIRST
FILING, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM HULEN STREET EAST TO
THE EXISTING NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY ALONG THE EASTERN
EDGE OF SAID BLOCK 20, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND
CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST
OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the east-west alley in Block 20, Chamberlin Arling-
ton Heights, First Filing, an addition to the City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, recorded in Vol. 63, page 71,
of the Plat Records of said County, from Hulen Street east
to the existing north-south alley along the eastern edge of
said Block 20, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and
permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of
any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby released
and shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided
by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

J. C. Pace and Company, Texas Electric Service Company, and Buddies Super-
markets, Inc., owners of all abutting property, have requested that the City
of Fort Worth abandon the east-west alley in Block 20, Chamberlin Arlington
Heights Addition, 1st Filing, from Hulen Street east to existing north-south
alley, as shown on the attached map. The addition alley closing will permit
expansion of an existing supermarket and provide additional area for
off-street parking.
The private utility companies, Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineering, and
Planning Departments do not object to the proposed closing. On March 10,
1965 the City Plan Commission reviewed the request and recommended adoption
of the ordinance which has been prepared abandoning the easement as
requested.
