OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER Communication to Mayor and Council No. G- 261
June 25, 1962
Honorable Mayor and
Members of the City Council Re: Membership of Supervising
City of Fort Worth Board of Plumbers
Mrs. McKnight and Gentlemen:
The Supervising Board of Plumbers has requwsted that representatives from
the local Heating and Air Conditioning Association and from the mechanical
engineering field be included among the membership of the Board. It is
the opinion of the Board that representation from these fields would be of
benefit in the making of determinations regarding the proper installation
of heating and air conditioning equipment, especially in view of the fact
that the City plumbing ordinance contains specifications which must be
complied with for such installations.
On May 15, 1962, the Supervising Board of Plumbers recommended adoption
by the City Council of an ordinance increasing the Board membership from
seven to nine. The recommended additions are (1) a contractor from the
Heating and Air Conditioning Association, and (2) a mechanical engineer
reqistered to practice in Texas and whose chief business is engineering
supervision and the preparation of plans and specifications pertaining to
plumbing, heating, and air conditioning.
An ordinance has been prepared which would increase the membership of
the Supervising Board of Plumbers from seven to nine, with the addition of
the two positions described in the previous paragraph, and Council adoption
of lthe ordinance as- recommended.
Respectfully submitted,
