AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT EAST STREET
FROM THE WEST LINE OF THE OLD TARRANT
COUNTY TRACTION =ZIANY'S RIGHT OF WAY
TO THE FORT 1iDRTH-DALLAS STATE HIC$i'iIAY
NUMBER ONE AND EffW STREET FROM THE
NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF EAST STREET NORTH
TO THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF THE
NORTHERN TEXAS TRACTION COMPANY PROPERTY
BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED, AND RE-
SERVING AN EASMIIENT FOR PUHLIC UTILITIES
IN AND ALONG SUCH STREETS, AND PROVIDING
FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE TO SAID LAND.
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Port Worth
that the hereinafter described streets, although duly dedicated and accepted
for use by the public, have in fact never been used by the public and that
it is to the best interests of the public that said streets be closed, aban-
doned and vacated as publio thoroughfares and the fee to the land in said
streets revert as provided by law, NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That the following described streets and portions of streets be and
the same are hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as public streets
or thoroughfares of any kind whatsoever:
A strip of land 50 feet in width out of the
James Sanderson Survey, known as East Street, from the
west line of the old Tarrant County Traction Company's
right of way in a northeasterly direction, dividing
Blocks 24 and 25, Interurban Addition, to a point where
it intersects the Fort Worth-Dallas State Highway No. 1.
Derry Street from the north property line of
East Street north to the south right of way line of the
Northern Texas Traction Company property.
SECTION II.
That an easement for public utilities is reserved in, along and
under the land embraced in the above described streets.
SECTION III.
That the fee to the land in said streets is hereby released and will
revert to the owners as provided by law.
SECTION IV.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
SECTION V.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage.
