HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5160 ORDINANCE NO. OFRE14 RECORD AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND CITY SECRETARY ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE FL WORTH, TEl(. CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER AXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER; AMENDING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS: SECTION!1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds'as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit Line of the City of Fort Worth, the southeast corner of Block 24, Shelby County School Land Survey; THENCE North, along the east line of Block 24, Shelby County School Land Survey, to its intersection with the north right-of-way line of County Road No. 1097; THENCE West, along the north right-of-way line of County Road No. 1097 a distance of 667 feet; THENCE South, along a line parallel to and 667 feet west from the east line of Block 24, Shelby County School Land Survey, to its intersection with the south line of Block 24, Shelby County School Land Survey; THENCE East, along the south line of Block 24, Shelby County School Land Survey, to the place of beginning and containing approximately .001 square miles. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every Irior ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter X%VSII of the City Charter. 7FCTION 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the retraining portions of the ordinance. SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect from and after its passage and it is so ordained. Passed and adopted this _&Js day of J , 1964.
