ORDINANCE LETTING CONTRACT FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF
A PORTION OF NORTH MAIN STREET AND AUTHORIZING ITS
EXECUTION; MAKING APPROPRIATION FOR THE INDEBTEDNESS
INCURRED THEREBY; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER
TO PREPARE ESTIMATES.
WHEREAS, on the 21st day of August, 1946, by ordinance
passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Fort
Worth, being Ordinance No. 2343, the City determined the
necessity for and ordered the improvement of a portion of North
Main Street, to wit:
NORTH MAIN STREET, from the northerly line of Bluff
Street to the southerly abutment of the North Aain
Street Bridge over Marine Creek, in North Fort Worth
addition;
and,
WHEREAS, subsequent to the passage and approval of said
ordinance, plans and specifications for said improvements were
submitted by the City Engineer and said plans and specifications
were approved and adopted by the City Council; and
I WHEREAS, notice to bidders was given as required by the
City Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the bid of Texas Bitulithic Company, a corpor-
ation, was found to be the lowest and best bid for the making
and construction of said improvements, to wit, leveling
present pavement with Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete and by paving
same with 1i inch Hot Mix Asphaltic Concrete Pavement on
existing pavement as a base, together with incidentals and
appurtenances, all as provided by said plans and specifications;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
I.
That the work of making and constructing such improvements
and contract therefor is hereby let to Texas Bitulithic Company,
a corporation, which said contract is dated the 16th day of
October, 1946, and is on file with the City and executed by
Texas Bitulithic Company, and the Mayor and City Secretary are
hereby directed to execute the said contract in the name of the
City of Fort Worth, Texas, and to impress the corporate seal
of the City thereon, the said contract embracing therein, among
other things, the prices for the work.
II.
That to provide for the payment of the indebtedness
incurred by the gity of Fort Worth by said contract, there is
hereby appropriated out of available funds which have been set
aside for said purpose, an amount sufficient to pay said
ihdebtedness so incurred.

III.
That the City Engineer of the City of Fort Worth be and
he is hereby ordered and directed to file with the City Council
estimates of the cost of such improvements in accordance with
the terms of the powers and provisions of Chapter 106 of the
Acts of the First Called Session of the Fortieth Legislature
of the State of Texas, now shown as Article 1105b of Vernon►s
Civil Statutes of the State of Texas, Annotated, which law
has been adopted as an amendment to and made a part of the
Charter of the City of Fort Worth.
