HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2160 a ORDINANCE NO. e2 O AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE ALLEY 16 FEET IN WIDTH THROUGH BLOCK 53, CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, AS SHOWN BY THE RECORDED PLAT OF CHAMBERLIN ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, BE VACATED, CLOSED AND ABANDONED; PROVIDING THAT THE FEE TO SAID PROPERTY SHALL REVERT TO THE ADJACENT OWNERS; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT UPON THE PASSAGE THEREOF. WHEREAS, although the hereinafter described area appears on a recorded plat as an alley, it has never been used by the public as an alley or public thoroughfare, and it has never been accepted by the City of Fort Worth as an alley or public thoroughfare, but on the contrary it has always been used and claimed either as private property by the adjacent owners or as thoroughfares under a replatting of the property as Westover Hills, an Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interest to the public that this apparent cloud to the title to the property be removed and that this thoroughfare and alley be permanently closed and abandoned to publis use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: Section I. That the following described lot, tract and parcel of land be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or thoroughfare: An alley 16 feet in width, as shown by the recorded plat of Chamberlin Arlington Heights, running from east to west through Block 53, Chamberlin Arlington Heights, Tarrant County, Texas. Section II. i That the fee to all of the aforesaid lot, tract and parcel of land is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owners as provided by law. I M ti Section III.
