AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN THE NAME OF EAST IRELAND STREET TO EAST CANNON AVENUE AND THE NAMES OF WEST IRELAND STREET -AM 1NXQ1_AYE_NUE__ TO UST CANNON AVENUE. WERTAS it appearing to the Board of Commissioners that certain thoroughfares within the City of Fort North, extending from 701 South Main Street east to South Cal- houn Street and from 700 South Main Street pest to South Jennings Avenue, called East and West Ireland Streets respectively, constitute merely a continuance of Cannon Avenue, which thoroughfare extends from 700 South Jen- nings Avenue west to Sixth Avenue; and WHEREAS the names of the several said thorough- fares have been confused and it has been found difficult ii&-saay in-staznoes for residents to-be located on said streets, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION I That the street now extending from 701 South Main Street east to South Calhoun Street and commonly known as East Ireland Street be and the said thoroughfare is hereby changed to the name of East Cannon Avenue; and that the street extending from 701 South Main Street west to South Jennings Avenue, commonly known as West Ireland Street, and the avenue extending from 700 South Jennings Avenue west to Sixth Avenue, commonly known as Cannon Avenue, be and the same are hereby changed to the name of West Can- non Avenue.
