An ordinance to prohibit horses and mules from remaining unhitched on the public square, streets, avenues,thoroughfares and vacant lots _in the City of Fort Worth, and providing a pen- alty for the violation of same. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:- Section 1. That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any per- son,association of persons,firm or corporation, owning,keeping, possessing or having in charge any horse, mule or other like animal, to suffer, permit or allow such animal to stand or re- main upon the public square or any• street,alley, lane,avenue or thoroughfare, or any vacant lot not enclosed by fence,within the corporate limitm of the Citr of Fort Worth, unless much ani- mal is attended, held and controlled by some competent person,or unless such animal is securely hitched by means of chain,stout r©_e or leather strap, halter or rein,to a post firmly set in the gr6und or side-=Llk,or to a ring and staple firmly set therein, or to an iron weight with a ring' attached,weighing not less than twentyio, pounds. Section 2. Andy person,firm,corporation,or association of persons violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sun not less than 0-and no more than 'ems five dollars. Section 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con- "flict- here h be and the same are hereby_ repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in .force from and after its passage and publication as required by law.
