HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 4701 " r OFEICIRt RECORD ORDINANCE NO. CITY SECRETARY AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND FT. WDRTII, SEX. ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 40, CHAPTER XMII OF THE CITY CHARTER; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXASf Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and being described by metes and bounds as follows: BEING a tract of land about 5 miles east from the Court House of Tarrant County, Texas and lying in and including all or part of the W. Norris, H. P. Largent, J. F. Redding, and W. N. Ray Surveys and being more fully described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the present City of Fort Worth City Limit Line at its intersection with the north line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021), in the W. N. Ray Survey; THENCE westerly with the north line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021) to the east line of the Handley Ederville Road (County Road No. 3054); THENCE northerly along the east line of the Handley Ederville Road (County Road No. 3054) to the south line of Midway Road (County Road No. 3007) produced east; THENCE westerly along the south line of Midway Road (County Road No. 3007) produced east, and the south line of Midway Road (County Road No. 3007) to its intersection with the east line of Willow Park, a dedicated public street, said point being 60 feet east from the northeast corner of Lot 16, Block 2, Richland Gardens, an addition out of the W. Norris Survey; THENCE southerly along the east line of Willow Park to its intersection with the south line of Larkspur Lane, produced east, a dedicated -public street south of Block 2, Richland Gardens, an addition out of the W. Norris Survey; THENCE westerly along the south line of Larkspur Lane to its intersection with the west line of Park Place Dive, a dedicated public street in Richland Gardens, an addition out of the W. Norris Survey; THENCE northerly along the west line of Park Place Dive to the southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 1, Richland garden, an addition out of the W. Norris Survey; THENCE westerly along the south line of said lot to its southwest corner; THENCE northerly along the west line of Block 1 of Richland Gardens, an addition out of the W. Norris Survey to its intersection with the south line of Midway Road (County Road No. 3007); THENCE westerly along the south right-of-way line of Midway Road (County Road No. 3007) to its intersection with the centerline of Big Fossil Creek; THENCE southerly along the centerline of Big Fossil Creek with its meanders, to its intersection with the centerline of the Trinity River; THENCE easterly along the centerline of the Trinity River, with its meanders, to its intersection with the west line of the Handley Ederville Road (County Road No. 3054); THENCE southerly along the west line of the Handley Ederville Road (County Road No. 3054) and along said line produced south to its inter- section with the south line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021); THENCE easterly along the south line of Randol Mill Road (County Road No. 2021) to its intersection with the City of Fort Worth City Limit Line; THENCE northerly along the City of Fort Worth City Limit Line to the place of beginning and containing approximately .525 square miles. Section 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance in conflict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals ordinance No. 4423 heretofore adopted and passed on January 6, 1961, but as to all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter XXVIII of the City Charter. Section 4. If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections, clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
