HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6901 ORDINANCE NO. 9 An Ordinance providing funds for the fiscal year 1973-74 and appropriating and setting aside the necessary funds out of the Revenues of the D/FW SURTRAN System for the said fiscal year for the maintenance and operation of the various activities of the D/FW SURTRAN System and for permanent improve- ments thereof in accordance with the proposed Budget submitted by the Dallas Public Transit Board; and providing an effective date. ---0--- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of providing the funds necessary and proposed to be expended in the budget submitted by the Dallas Public Transit Board for the operation of the D/FW SURTRAN System for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1973, and ending September 30, 1974, the available resources and revenues of the D/FW SURTRAN System for said fiscal year be and the same are hereby appropriated and set aside for the maintenance and operation of said system being a public transportation system as established by contract between the Cities of Dallas and Fort Worth together with permanent improvements set forth in the budget as finally adopted and as hereinafter set forth, and said appropriations shall be strictly applied for the uses and purposes of the activities of the system, in the respective amounts in accordance with this ordinance as follows: D/FW SURTRAN SYSTEM A. Personal Services $1,813,873 B. Supplies 252,771 C. Maintenance - Structures 1,300 D. Maintenance - Equipment 72,510 E. Miscellaneous Services 466,310 F. Sundry Charges a. Other charges 440,736 TOTAL EXPENSES $3,047,500 CAPITAL OUTLAY A. Equipment $5,500 Total Capital Outlay 5,500 Total Expenditures Budgeted 3,053,000 Increase or (Decrease) in Stores 20,000 Operating Reserve 150,000 GRAND TOTAL $3,223,000 SECTION 2. In conformity with applicable provisions of the City Charter the transfer of an unencumbered balance of an appropriation made for the use of any division, activity or purpose to any other division may be made by the Board, save and except that the same shall not apply to capital expenditures without the approval of the City Council ; provided, however, (1) If and when in the judgment of the General Manager, actual and/or probable receipts are less than the amount estimated and herein appropirated for expenditure, the Manager shall forthwith effect a like reduction in the expenditures of the several divisions and/or activities in order that, as comtemplated by the City Charter, expenditures during the fiscal year shall not exceed the income for such period; and (2) It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, by the passage of this ordinance, to merely appropriate its proportionate part of the funds provided for hereinabove in accordance with the terms of the SURTRAN Contract executed by and between the City of Dallas and the City of Fort Worth effective February 14, 1972, and this ordinance shall never be construed to create any office or position in the Public Transit System or in the D/FW SURTRAN System. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage in acordance with the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and it is accordingly so ordained. APPROVED AS TO FO 627 ror��� S.
