HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999/09/07-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session a SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 7, 1999 Date & Time On the 7th day of September, A.D., 1999, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 5:16 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Kenneth Barr; Mayor Pro tempore Ralph McCloud, Council Members Jim Lane, Becky Haskin, Jeff Wentworth and Wendy Davis; City Manager Bob Terrell; City Attorney Wade Adkins; and City Secretary Gloria Pearson. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive Session It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Council meet in closed session at 5:18 p.m. to seek the advise of its attorneys concerning the following pending or contemplated litigation or other matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules: a) Fort Worth Independent School District v. City of Fort Worth and Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Cause No. 348-156227-94 b) Russell Nyborg v. City of Fort Worth and Civil Service Commission, Cause No. 153-164358-96 c) Legal issues concerning proposed annexation of Lake Country Estates d) Jerry A. Jones v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 141-174381-98 e) Veronica Allen individually and as Next Friend of Kile Allen v. Cathy Liana Truly and City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 141-168859-96 f) Thomas M. Thibodeaux, Lizzabeth May Young, and Mark Young v. City of Fort Worth and Michael Lee Crittenden, Cause No. 17-175728-98 g) City of Fort Worth v. City of Dallas et al., Cause No. 48-171109-97 h) City of Dallas v. City of Fort Worth et al., Cause No. 3-97-CV-2734-T 0 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS AUGUST 10, 1999 PAGE 2 of 2 i) City of Fort Worth v. Department of Transportation, Nos. 99-6008 and 99-60239 as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code.
