ORDINANCE NO. FT. WORTH, TEX.
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS AND
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY LYING ADJACENT TO THE
CITY OF FORT WORTH; PROVIDING THAT THE ORDINANCE
BE ADVERTISED IN A DAILY NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED IN
SAID CITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF
SECTION 40, CHAPTER XXVIII OF THE CITY CHARTER,
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
PRESCRIBING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND SPECIFYING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
Section 1.
That the hereinafter described territory lying adjacent to the City of Fort Worth
is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of
said City of Fort Worth, said territory being situated in Tarrant County, Texas, and
being described by metes and bounds as follows:
Being a tract of land about five (5) miles east from the Court House of Tarrant
County, Texas, and embracing all or portions of the J. F. Redding, H. P. Largent,
G. W. Main, J. H. Conner, N. Burton, W. N. Ray, If. Robinson, J. Brockman, E. Jones,
R. G. B. Williams, P. E. Coleman, E. Taylor, and W. Mann Surveys and being more fully
described as follows;
BEGINNING at a point in the present city limit line of City of Fort Worth,
in the westerly right-of-way line of Handley Drive (County Road 2054), 1000 feet
south of the south line of the W. N. Ray Survey;
THENCE, north along the westerly right-of-way line of Handley Drive (County
Road 2054), the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, to its inter-
section with the southerly right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road (County Road
2021);
THENCE, westerly with the southerly right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road
(GDunty Road 2021) to its intersection with the west line of Handley Ederville
Road (County Road 3054) produced south;
THENCE, north along the westerly right-of-way line of Handley Ederville
Road (County Road 3054) produced south and along the westerly right-of-way line
of Handley Ederville Road (County Road 3054) to its intersection with the center-
line of the Trinity River;
THENCE west along the centerline of the Trinity River with its meanders, to
its intersection with the south right-of-way line of Elliott Reeder Road extended
easterly.
THENCE westerly along the south right-of-way line of Elliott Reeder Road
extended easterly from the east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey, and the south
line of Elliott Reeder Road to its intersection with the east line of the W. R.
Reeder Survey.
THENCE, south along the east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey and along the
east line of the W. R. Reeder Survey produced south to its intersection with the
southerly right-of-way line of Randol Mill Road (County Road 2021);
THENCE, southwesterly and westerly along the southerly right-of-way line
of Randol Mill Road (County Road 2021) to its intersection with the east line
of the W. F. White Survey produced north, the present city limit line of the
City of Fort Worth;
THENCE, south along the east line of W. F. White Survey produced north,
the east line of the W. F. White Survey and the east line of the W. L. Tandy
Survey, the present city limit line of the City of Fort Worth, to its inter-
section with the north line of the W. J. Baker Survey produced west;
THENCE, easterly along the north line of the W. J. Baker Survey produced
west, the north line of the W. J. Baker Survey, and the north line of the
W. J. Baker Survey produced east, to its intersection with the east line of
P. E. Coleman Survey:
THENCE, north along the east line of the P. E. Coleman Survey to its
intersection with a line parallel to and 1,000 feet south of the south line
of the W. N. Ray Survey produced west;
THENCE, easterly along a line, parallel to and 1,000 feet south of the
south line of the W. N. Ray Survey produced west, and parallel to and 1,000
feet south of the south line of the W. N. Ray Survey, to the place of begin-
ning and containing approximately 1.859 square miles.
Section 2.
That this ordinance shall and does hereby repeal every prior ordinance in
conflict herewith, and more particularly this ordinance expressly repeals
Ordinance No. 4639 heretofore adopted and passed on May. 21, 1962, but as to
all other ordinances or sections of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith
this ordinance shall be and is hereby, made cumulative.
Section 3.
That this ordinance shall be published one time in a daily newspaper published
in the City of Fort Worth, in accordance with the provisions of Section 40, Chapter
XXVIII of the City Charter.
Section 4.
If any section, subsection, clause, sentence, phrase, or word of this ordinance
is for any reason held void or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction,
such invalidity shall not effect the validity of the remaining sections, subsections,
clauses, sentences, phrases or words, except as the same are inseparable from and
indispensable to the remaining portions of the ordinance.
Section 5.
That this ordinance shall become effective and be in full force and effect upon
its final passage, which in no event shall be less than thirty (30) days from the
date of its publications, as aforesaid, and it is so ordained.
