HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 5302 ORDINANCE NO, -sfo,-- AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THAT PORTION OF PECAN STREET BETWEEN THE SOUTHERLY RIGHT- OF-WAY LINE OF SPUR HIGHWAY 280 AND A LINE 100 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF EAST 7TH STREET, BEING ADJACENT TO THE EAST LINE OF THE RESIDUE OF LOT 1, BLOCK 70, ORIGINAL TOWN, SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS CITY ADDITION, SAVE AND EXCEPT THAT THE EAST 30 FEET OF SAID STREET IS RETAINED AS AN EASEMENT FOR ANY AND ALL EXISTING UTILITIES, BE VACATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HERE- WITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That that portion of Pecan Street between the southerly right-of-way line of Spur Highway 280 and a line 100 feet north of the north right-of-way line of East 7th Street, being adjacent to the east line of the residue of Lot 1, Block 70, Original Town, sometimes referred to as City Addition, save and except that the east 30 feet of said street is retained as an easement for any and all existing utilities, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2. That the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, save and except that an easement is reserved for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. PAGE NUMBER Pecan Street between Spur Highway 12/21/64 PZ-123 280 and East Seventh Street 1 of —�-- The Fort Worth National Bank, owner of all abutting property, has requested that Pecan Street be closed between the south line of Spur Highway 280 and a line 100 feet north of East Seventh Street: to permit use of the property, together with the property on either side, as an employee parking lot. The area requested for closing is shown on the attached map. The private utility companies and the City Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineering and Planning: Departments do not object to closing the street, provided the. east 30 feet is retained as an easement for existing sanitary sewer, water, and telephone company lines. The City Plan Commission re- viewed the request on December 10, 1964, and recommended that the City Coun- cil adopt an ordinance vacating the street as requested, retaining easements for all existing utilities.
