AN ORDINANCE SETTING APART 4 MILLS PER ANNUM
OF THE TEN CFNT TAX ALLOWED FOR PARK PURPOSES
TO CREATE A SI1TMG_Finan AND PAY INTERM- THERE01,
TO PAY' CERTAIN NOTES EXECUTED BY THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH AND THE PARK BOARD FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE
OF A PART OF THE F.B.DAGGETT TRACT.
WHEREAS, in order to carry, out the plans of the Park
Board of the City of Fort Worth, it will be necessary to
purchase 14.23 acres out of the 24.8 acre tract out of the
F.B.Daggett land, out of the Lewis Moore 320 acre survey,
Patent No.245,Vol.3; the said 14.23 acres here conveyed being
all of said 24.8 acre tract except three tracts all as herein-
after described by metes and bounds as follows:
"Beginning at a stake in the middle of Park Lake
Branch at the mouth of a branch running into Park
Lake Branch from the South from said stake a locust
tree 8 in.dia.bre. 3.41 deg.east 455 feet; thence
south 30jwest with the branch running into Park Lake
Branch 100 feet, and continuing up said branch with
its various meanders to the head thereof a bois dtarc
about 8 feet north 15 deg. west of a natural set stone;
thence south 521 feet to a stake from which a small
bois d'aro tree stands south 15 feet; thence crest
867 feet to a boil d'aro stake in hollow; thence north
66 feet to a stake in middle of a branch; thence down
said branch with its meanders to a stake the south-
east corner of a two (2) acre tract sold to McCampbell;
thence north 125 feet to said McCampbell's northeast
corner stake in the middle of Park Lake Branch from
which the chimney at west end of R.Maddox house
bears 5.17 deg. east; thence down Park Lake Branch
with its meanders to the place of beginning."
Save and except said three tracts, describes as follows:
FIRST TRACT: A tract of 8.62 acres described as
beginning at a large cedar fence post standing in
a small branch in the west line of the said Daggett
tract, said post being 25 feet south and 2-8/10 feet
east of the southeast corner of lot 31 of Egglestonts
Addition; thence east 200 feet to a stone marked
"Y", thence north 125 feet to a stone marked "Y";
thence east 522-4/10 feet to a stone marked "Y" in a
branch in the east line of the said Daggett tract;
thence northerly following meanders of branch as
follows: North 7 deggrees 29 minutes west 79 feet;
thence north 40 degrees 53 minutes west 89J feet;
thence north 8 degrees 31 minutes east 55 feet;

thence north 7 degrees 44 minutes west 82 feet;
thence north 3 degrees 9 minutes west 201-2/10
feet; thence north 59 degrees 13 minutes east 148
feet to a cedar post in middle of Park Lake Branch
at mouth of branch from south from which post a
locust tree 12 inches in diameter bears south 41
degrees east 4-55 feet,theace up the bed of Park
Lake Branch as follows: North 69 degrees 17 minutes
west 112-4/10 feet; thence north 49 degrees 7 minutes
west 211-5/10 feet; thence south 76 degrees 46
minutes west 159-7/10 feet; thence south 56 'degrees
32 minutes west 276J feet to a point in the middle
of Park Lake Branch; thence south 0 degrees and 20
minutes west 141-7/10 feet to the S.E. corner of
McCampbell's tract; thence up branch with its
meanders as follows; South 33 degrees 14 minutes
east 55-8/10 feet; thence south 15 degrees 49 minutes
west 230-7/10 feet; thence south 34 degrees 41
minutes east 108-5/10 feet; thence south 32 degrees
56 minutes west 173-9/10 feet to place of beginning,
containing 8.52 acres.
SECOND TRACT: Described as having been dedicated as
a street out of the said L.Moore survey in Tarrant
County,Texas, and being a part of the land heretofore
owned by E.J.Daggett, and lying north of Maddox. Avenue
in the City of Fort Worth, and being 50 feet wide and
running parallel with Maddox Avenue, that is, running
eastand west, and the south line of said 50 foot street
being 574 feet north of north line of Maddox Avenue,
and said strip running entirely across the said 24.8
acre tract and being an extension of what is known
as Morpliy Street in the City of Fort Worth,Texas.
THIRD TRACT: A strip of land off the south side of
said 24.8 acre tract consisting of 670/1000 of an
acre, being described as follows: East of the middle
line of Mississippi Avenue projected north a strip
averaging 33.3 feet wide by 434J feet long, a total
area of 332/1000 of an acre and west of the said
middle line of Mississippi Avenue projected north
a strip 34 feet wide by 433J feet long, a total area
of 338/1000 of an acre.
AND WHEREAS, the purchase money for said property is
to be evidenced by ten vendor's lien notes executed by
the City of Fort Worth, payable to the said F.B.Daggett,
described as follows: Ten notes each in the sum of Three
Thouvand Four Hundred Twenty-four and Eighty Centa($3,424.80)
Dollars; the first note due and payable one year from date
of deed, with five per cent interest from maturity, and
one note maturing each year thereafter up to and including
the year 1933. All of the notes except the first one, bearing
five per cent interest from February 8" 1924; interest
Payable semi-annually.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION 1: For the purpose of providing a sinking
fund, and cuffieient ftmd to-pay interest thereon,
to pay and discharge said notes when due, there is
hereby set apart from the ten cent ad valorem tax
provided for park purposes 4 mills per annum;
_t said sum shall be and constitute
a sinking fund for the payment of said notes and shall
be used for no other purpose; and
—ftm4 shall be and hereby is set apart to pay the interes V
upon said notes and shall be used for no other purpose.
SECTION 2: Inasmuch, as there is an urgent public
Interest for the speedy completion of said park, it is
hereby ordained that this Ordinance shall take effect
from and after its passage.
