AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING REVENUE OF THE CITY IN EXCESS OF ITS TOTAL ESTIMATED IN- COME AS SET FORTH IN THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE PURPOSE OF APPROPRIATING THE ADDITIONAL SUM OF $65,852.50 NECESSARY TO FINANCE THE PURCHASE OF VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPART- MENT; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CUMULATIVE OF PRIOR APPROPRIATION ORDINANCES; REPEALING ORDIN- ANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Fort Worth shall be provided with such revenue as may be secured from the various sources included in Ordinance No. 7598 and in the Budget of the City Manager; and, in addition thereto there is hereby appropriated an additional sum of Sixty Five Thousand Eight Hundred Fifty-two and 50/100 Dollars ($65,852.50) , in addition to the sum of $564,768.00 heretofore budgeted for the purpose of purchasing police patrol vehicles. That the additional sum of $65,852.50 hereby appropriated is available in Index Code 222166. The City Manager shall be authorized to transfer such $65,852.50 from the Equipment Services capital budget which amount may eventually be required to be replaced, by transfer, from the Equipment Services reserve fund. SECTION 2. should any part, portion, section or part of a section of this ordinance be declared invalid or inoperative or void for any reason by a court of competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way affect the remaining portions, parts, sections or parts of sections of this ordinance, which provisions shall be, remain and continue to be in full force and effect. SECTION 3. That this ordinance shall be cumulative of ordinance No. 7598, but all other ordinances and appropriations for which provision has been heretofore made are hereby expressly repealed if in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained. Noncompliance of specifications, by bid, is tabulated on the attached chart. The bid of Century Chevrolet has the least number of exceptions to the specifications and for this reason the Police Department re- commends the purchase of the Chevrolet Impala as bid by Century Chevrolet. The Fleet Sales Manager of D/FW Chrysler Plymouth Inc. , Mr, John Shackelford, has requested that his bid be withdrawn. Mr. Shackelford states that he failed to include the cost of several of the items that were requested, Financing Funds are available in Index Code 222166. A total of $564,768 was budgeted for purchase of police patrol vehicles. The remaining $65,852.50 necessary to finance this purchase is currently available in the Equipment Services capital budget, but will eventually be required from the Equipment Services reserve fund. Recommendation It is recommended that the purchase be made from Century Chevrolet on its bid of $630,620.50 net f.o.b. Fort Worth.
