AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR M SUBaSSION TO THE QUALIFIED
�'..ZGTORS, WHO OWN TAXAFf.R PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS, AND WHO HAVE DULY RENDERED THE SAME FOR TAXATION, A
PROPOSITION FOR THE ISSUANCE OF NEGOTIABLE COUPON BONDS OF
SAID CITY IN THE SUM OF FOUR HUNDRED NIGHTY-FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($485,000.00), FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING,
BUILDING AND EQUIPPING A NEW PUBLIC LIBRARY AND ACQUIRING
AND SEGURING THE NECESSARY LANDS AND SITE THEREFOR, SAID
BONDS TO BE IN SUCH DWOMINATION AS MAY BE DETERMINED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL, MATURING WITHIN FGRTY (40) YEARS FROM THE DATE
THEREOF, BEARING INTEREST FROM THE DATE THEREOF AT THE RATE
OF FOUR PER CENT (4%) PER AMMM, PAYABLE SWI-ANNUALLY, EX-
PRESSED IN COUPON NOTES ATTACHED TO THE BONDS, CALLING AN
ELECTION FOR THE FURTOSE TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TZX&S, ON TUESDAY, THE 2ND DAY OF APRIL, A. D. 1935.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That an election be held in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on
Tuesday, the 2nd day of April, A. D. 1935 at the polling places hereinafter
mentioned, between the hours of seven a. m. and seven p. m., at which also-
tion the following proposition for the issuance of bonds for the City of
Fort Worth shall be submitted to the qualified electors, who own taxable
property in said City and who have duly rendered the same fos taxation:

Shall the City of Fort Worth, through its City Council, issue its
negotiable coupon bonds in the principal sum of Four Hundred Eighty-five
Thousand Dollars (W5,000.00), for the purpose of constructing, building
and equipping a new public library for the City of Fort Worth and for purchas-
ing and acquiring the necessary lands and site therefor, said bonds being
payable serially as may be determined by the City Council, so that the last
maturing bonds shall become payable within forty (40) years from the date
thereof, bearing interest at the rate of four per cent (4%) per annum from
the date thereof, payable semi-annually, and levy a sufficient tax to pay the
interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund sufficient to redeem said
bonds at the maturity thereof?
SECTION II.
Said election shall be held at the following places with the follow-

SECTION III.
That said election shall be held under the provisions of the Charter
of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, the Constitution and laws of said State,
insofar as same may be applicable, and qualified electors, who own taxable
property in said City and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, shall
be allowed to vote upon said proposition.
SECTION IV.
All voters who favor the proposition to issue said bonds shall have
written or printed upon their ballots, the words;
"FOR the Issuance of Library Bonds.",
and those opposed shall have written or printed upon their ballots, the words.
"AGAINST the Issuance of Library Bonds."
SECTION V.
The way and manner of holding this election, the notice to be given
therefor, the polling places, the pweonnel of the officers who are to hold
the same and all details connected with the holding of the election shall be
determined and arranged by the City Council and proper notice of such matters
shall be given in a proclamation by the Nayor.
SECTION VI.
The City Secretary is hereby ordered and directed to prepare
ballots and stamp same "Official Ballot", on which ballots shall be printed
the proposition as set forth above.
SECTION VII.
That all of said bonds shall be in such denominations as may be
determined by the City Council and shall mature serially in the regular order
in which they are numbered, making the last bonds mature within forty (40)
years from the date thereof, unless the City Council, in the exercise of its
discretion, shall otherwise provide for such maturity, and said bonds shall
be sold at not less than par and shall bear intereat at the rate of four per
cent (0) per annum, payable semi-annually.
SECTION VIII.
That the City Secretary shall furnish election officials said
ballots, together with any other forms or blanks, in accordance with the
Charter of the City of Fort Worth and the laws of the State of Texas, insofar
as same are applicable.
SECTION I%.
A copy of this ordinance, signed by the Mayor of the City of Fort
Worth, Texas, and attested by the City Secretary, shall serve as a proper
notice of said election.
SECTION X.
The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause
said notice of the election to be posted up at each election precinct at
least thirty (30) days before the date of said election.
SECTION SI.
The City Secretary is further authorized and directed to cause
said notice of the election to be published in some daily newspaper of general
circulation once each week for four (4) weeks prior to the date of said
election.
SECTION %II.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage, and it is so ordained.
