Proiect Description Name: Arch Adams from West 7th to Bailey, West 5th from Arch Adams to Bailey and West 6th from Barden to Bailey, Project No. 104-35000-336 Contractor: L. Grimes and Company, Inc. Contract Awarded: November $, 1971 (M&C C-2107) Work Order Issued: December 17, 1971 Work Order Effective: January 3, 1972 Work Began: January 3, 1972 Date of Final Inspection and Approval: May 24, 1972 Working Time Bid: 100 Working Days Working Time Used: 97 Working Days Project Cast and Financing Original Bid Price: $154,106.40 Change Order No. 1: - 56.25 A.R. 1-15, 2.3.1 Change Order No. 2: + 2,843.50 A.R. 1-15, 2.3.1 Change Order No. 3: + 701.90 A.R. 1-15, 2.3.1 Revised Bid Price 157,595.55 Final Contract Cost: 142,595.42 Partial Payments Previously Made: 5, Amount: $127,704.17 Final Payment Due: $ 14,891.25 Sufficient funds are available for the final payment to be made from Project Number 104-35000-336. Deviation from Bid Price: The final contract cost of this project is $15,000.13 under the bid price. A major portion of the savings, $4,000, resulted because 6" metal pipe subdrain was found to be unnecessary. A savings of $3,204.04 was real- ized because it was not necessary to adjust as many utilities as anticipated and a savings of $1,986 resulted because the project did not require as much 7" hot mix asphaltic concrete pavement and lime stabilized'subgrade as estimated in the con- tract specifications. The remaining cost difference, $5,810.09, is attributed to minor variations between quantities estimated in the contract documents and quart-_ tities measured and used at the job site. Compliance with Specifications Tests made during construction show that materials used and required thicknesses were in compliance with contract specifications. Recommendation It is recommended that the project described be accepted by the adoption of an ordinance and that final payment of $14,891.25 be authorized to L.
