HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2209 ORDINANCE NO. r AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THAT PART OF HARROLD STREET LY- ING AND BEING BETMM BLACKS 1 AND 13, EVANS PEARSON WEST- WOOD ADDITION, AND A PUBLIC STRIP LYING AND BEING BETWEEN THE WEST LINE OF BLOCKS 1 AND 13 OF SAID ADDITION AND THE EASTERLY RIOT OF WAY LINE OF THE ST. LOUIS, SAN FRANCISCO AND TEXAS RAILROAD, BE VACATED, CLOSED AND ABANDONED; PRO- VIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE FEE IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEMWITH; AND PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IMlsEDIATELx. WHEREAS, although the hereinafter described areas appear on a recorded plat as public thoroughfares, they have never been used by the public as public thoroughfares, but on the contrary they have always been used and claimed as private property by the adjacent owner; and, WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the public that this apparent cloud to the title to this property be removed and that these thoroughfares be permanently closed and abandoned to public use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That the following described areas be and the same are hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as streets or public thoroughfares; All of that part of Harrold Street north of the north line of Kansas Street and lying and being between Blocks 1 and 13, Evans Pearson Westwood Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas; and All of that portion of the public strip (as alley or street) between the north line of Kansas Street and the south line of the White Settlement Road, and lying and being between the west line of Blocks 1 and 13, Evans Pearson Westwood Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, and the easterly right of way line of the St. Louis, San Francisco and Texas Railroad. SECTION 2. That the fee to the aforesaid areas is hereby released and will revert to the adjacent owner as provided by law, save and except that an easement is reserved for public utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4.
