HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 2109 ORDINANCE N0. 2109 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION III OF ORDINANCE NO. 1745, PRESCRIBING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY OF FORT WORTH TO PERSONS, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS US- ING ITS SANITARY SYMER LINES AND SYSTEMS OR PARTS THEREOF DURING THE BILLING PERIODS BEGINNING NNE 1, 1941 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1941; MAKING SUCH RATES APPLICABLE ONLY TO RESIDENTIAL CONSUMERS USING WATER PURCHASED FROM THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR RESIDENTIAL AND IRRIGATIONAL PURPOSES; AND PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS; SECTION 1. That Section III of Ordinance No.l 745 be and is hereby amended and after being so amended, shall read as follows: The schedule of charges and rentals set forth in the pre- ceding section shall be maintained each month, provided, how- ever (1) that no charge or rental during the billing periods beginning June 1, 1941 and ending September 30, 1941, shall exceed the average char#a or rental made for the preceding months of December, January, February and March; and (2) that persons, firms and corporations using water purchased from the City of Fort Worth and being residential consumers using water for residential and irrigational purposes shall pay the charges or rentals set forth in the preceding section, but no charge or rental during the billing periods beginning June 1, 1941 and end- ing September 30, 1941 shall exceed the average charge and rental made for the preceding months of December, January, February and March. Under the terms of this ordinance, "residential consumers of water for residential and irrigational purposes" is meant those using water in or upon the premises of a residence or dwelling for the purpose of sprinkling lawns, shrubbery, flowers, gardens and any other improvements to the property exterior to the dwell- ing, and does not include and shall not be applicable to hotels, tenements, commercial establishments, industries and apartment houses having more than two separate apartments, or boarding houses having more than three rooms for occupancy by tonantsi and be it further provided that in case of apartments and subdivided dwellings for which more than one meter is placed, that the reduced summer rate shall apply only to the meter of the consumer who maintains and waters the exterior premises of the property.
