recess session in the Council Chamber at the City gall at
900 A. ll., Thursday, the 12th day of April, A. D. 1928, and
upon roll call the following were presents A. N. Thomas,
Mayor Pro•Tsu, Willard Barton, T. B* Hoffer, N.T.Renfro, wm.
Xonnig, N.N. Austin, Van Zandt Jarvis and John N. Sparks,
Councilmen„ constituting a quorum and majority of said
Beards and I. L, Van Eandt, Jr., City Secretary-Tsreasur",
was in attendance at said meeting, and the following pro-
ceedings, among other things, were had and donee
Councilman Burton, seconded by 6emntiUan Jarvis,
moved the adoption of the following Ordinanoos
ORDINANCE N0. 1409
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS FIVE V) AND
SIX (VI) OF ORDINANCE NO. 14020 PASSED THE 27TH
DAY OF MARCH, 1928, BY PROVIDING A TAX LEVY OF 2 42
CENTS INSTEAD OF 2.28 CENTS ON THE ONE HUNDRED (j%OO.-
00)gDOLLAR PHOPI.RTY VALUATION, TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL
OF Tffis BONDS AUTHORIZED TO BE ISSUaD BY THE SAID
ORDINANCE AS THEY MATURE*
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City
of Fort Worth, Texas, that the tax levy provided for in Ordinance
Me, 1402 to Drente a sinking fund for the payment and extinguish-
ment of the bonded debt, principal and interest authorized by
the said Ordinance, is insufficient.
NOW* WHEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTHS
SECTION I.
That Sections Five (V) and Six (VI) of Ordinance No.
1402, passed at a regular meeting of the City Council of
Fart Worth, Texas, on Tuesday the 87th day of Sarah, A.t1.
19288 be and the same are hereby amended, and after being
so amended, shall read as followst
"SE:CTI0M V,
That for the purpose of creating a sinking fund for the
payment and complete ext sbmsnt of the foregoing
bonded debt,principal and interests and all and every
part of same, there is hereby levied and there shall
bs assessed and collected as provided by law, set apart
and approprlAtod for the said purpose, an annual, direct
special advatorem tax for the year 1028 and every
auacosaive year thereafter during the IV* of said bond-
ed debt or any pert thereof of 2.42 Cents (or such an
amount to may be necessary and adequate, be it more or
less) on every one Hundred (3100.00) Dollars of property
valuation, real, personal and mixed, subject to taxation
and not exempt therefrom under the Constitution and law
of the State of Texas, situated and owned in the City of
Fort Worth on the let day of January 19B, and on the
lot day of darmary of each year thereafter until said debt
represented by said bonds and coupon interest notes shall
have been tally paid, and if at any :ime, such tax should
be insufficient then it sbafl be the duty of the City
Qouaeil or any other governing Ludy of the Clay of ,Fort
Xorth, to set &pant and apprepriate such additional amount
of money out of the general revenues of the said Cityr, as
may be requisite to supply the deficiency until all inter-
set shall have been paid and the sinking fund established
as required by the Constitution of the State of Texas and
the Charter of the City of Fort North."
"SECTION VI.
That it shall be the duty of the City Council of the City
of fort Worth and its suecessors, and of the government
of the City of Fort L-orth, by levying takes for general
purposes for the said City of Fort Worth for the year 1928,
and for every successive year during the life of said bond-
ed debt or any part thereof, to Inallude in such levy the
special tax of 2.62 cents on the One Hundred ($100.00) Dol-
lars property valuation (or so much thereof an may be
requisite and rrecessary)previdod for in the next preceding
Section of this card Inance and su,sh sposial tax shall on

SECTION II.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after the date of its passage and it is so ordained.

meeting, submitted the motion to adopt said Ordinance and all
of the Owmeilmen, including the Mayor Pro-Tom, voted sayo"'
thereof and none voted "no% and the motion to adopt the or-
dinance was declared to be uaanimously passed and adopted.
