AN ORDINANCE RELEASING TERRITORY FROM THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION FT. WORTH, TEl(.
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH; MAKING THIS ORDINANCE CTA-IULATIVE; PRESCRIBING A
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT NORTH:
SECTION 1. The City of Fort Worth hereby relinquishes all extraterritorial
jurisdictional authority over the following described territory under the
provisions of the Municipal Annexation Act, Article 970a Vernon's Texas
Civil Statutes said tract of land being described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEING a tract of land about 12 miles northeast from the Court House of
Tarrant County, Texas, lying in the W. H. Slaughter, J. A. Durham and
P. Allen Surveys, and being more fully described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the present City Limit line of the City of Keller
at its intersection with the south line of the W. H. Slaughter Survey,
Abstract 1431;
THENCE east, along the south line of the W. H. Slaughter Survey Abstract 1431,
to its intersection with the west right-of-way line of County Road 4044;
THENCE north and northeasterly, along the west and northwest right-of-way
line of County Road 4044, to its intersection with the north line of Tract
2-B of the J.A. Durham Survey Abstract 424;
THENCE west, along the north line of Tract 2-B of the J.A. Durham Survey
Abstract 424, and the north line of Tract 8-A-2 of the P. Allen Survey
Abstract 28, to its intersection with the east line of Tract 8 of the
P. Allen Survey Abstract 28;
THENCE north, along the east line of Tract 8 of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28,
to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of Farm to Market Road
1709;
THENCE east, along the south right-of-way line of Farm to Market Road 1709,
to its intersection with the east line of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28;
THENCE north, along the east line of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28, to
its intersection with the north line of Tract 10 of the P. Allen Survey
Abstract 28;
THENCE west, along the north line of Tract 10 of the P. Allen Survey Abstract
28, to the southwest corner of Tract 3 of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28;
THENCE north, along the west line of Tract 3 and the west line of Tract 3A
of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28, to its intersection with the south line
of Tract 2A of the P. Allen Survey Abstract 28,
THENC$east, along the south line of Tract 2A of the P. Allen Survey Abstract
28, to the southeast corner of said Tract 2A;
THENCE north, along the east line of Tract 2A of the P. Allen Survey Abstract
2;8, and along said line produced north, to its intersection with the present
City Limit line of Keller, in the south line of the D. Barcroft Survey Abstract
141;
THENCE west and south, along the present City Limit line of the City of Keller,
to the place of beginning and containing approxigately 1.04 square miles.

SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall and does hereby amend every prior
ordinance in conflict herewith, but as to all other ordinances or sections
of ordinances not in direct conflict herewith, this ordinance shall be and
is hereby made cumulative.
SECTION 3. If any section, subsection or provision of this ordinance shall
be held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, that
portion so held to be invalid or unconstitutional shall not affect the validity
of any other part of the ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall become effective and shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, and it is so ordained.

,7/27/64 PZ-109 Apportiommaent w Mty of Keller i or I In response to requests by the City of Keller, negotiations have been conducted
between representatives of Fort Worth and Keller for the purpose of apportioning
the overlapping territorial jurisdictions of the two municipalities in accordance
with the provisions of the Municipal Annexation Act of 1963.
Attached is a map of Keller and surrounding area showing the proposed apportion-
ment of the area where the overlapping jurisdiction exists. Kel"ler agrees to
release its ,jurisdiction over 2,722. 12 acres, which is approximately 80 per cent
of fhe exo Bing overlapping area. Fort -Worth would release b4.75' acres of its
jurisdiction to Keller. The presently incorporated area of Fort Worth would
not be affected by the proposed agreement.
On July 8, 1964, the City Plan Commission considered the proposed apportionment,
and adopted the following recommendations unanimously:
1) That ordinances be adopted apportioning the extraterritorial
jurisdiction with the City of Keller as proposed, ,and,
2) That the City Plan Commission be authorized to review proposed
apportionment agreements with surrounding communities on a
systematic basis in accordance with general policies that the
City Council may wish to establish including the considaj-ation
of protective annexations in areas released by other,
municipalities in connection with the apportionment of
extraterritorial jurisdiction.
