Final Council action on the project described below is requested. Project Description Name: Assessment Paving of Hitson Lane, Project No. 104-36000-335 Contractor: Texas Bitulithic Company Contract Awarded: March 18, 1974 (M&C C-2738) Work Order Issued: July 3, 1974 Work Order Effective: July 16, 1974 Work Began: July 10, 1974 Date of Final Inspection and Approval: October 25, 1974 Working Time Bid: 40 Working Days Working Time Used: 39 Working Days Project Cost and Financing. Original Bid Price: $54,174.65 Change Order No. 1: $ 2,957.50 (M&C C-2848, 7/l/74) Change Order No. 2: $ 1,008.40 (A.R. 1-15, 2.3.1) Revised Bid Price: $58,140.55 Final Contract Cost: $52,118.77 Partial Payments Previously Made: 4 Amount: $46,505.12 Final Payment Due: $5,613.65 Sufficient funds are available for the final payment to be made from Project Number 104-36000-335. Deviation from Bid Price: The final contract cost of this project is $6,021.78 or 10.35 percent under the revised bid price. The major portion of the de- crease; approximately $5,000.00, resulted because the consultant miscalculated the quantities of unclassified street excavation, lime stabilized subgrade, 7 inch hot-mix asphaltic concrete and 7 inch curb and 18 inch gutter required to construct the project in accordance with the plans and a savings of $950.50 was realized because it was not necessary to adjust as many utilities as anticipated. The remaining cost difference, $71.28, is attributed to minor variations between quantities estimated in the contract documents and quanti- ties measured and used at the job site. Compliance with Specifications Tests made during construction show materials used and required thicknesses were in compliance with contract specifications. Recommendations It is recommended that the project described be accepted by the adoption of an ordinance and final payment of $5,613.65 be made to Texas Bitulithic Company CRETARY SUBMITTED BY: DISPOSITION BY COUNCIL: eITTYRS Y ❑ APPROVED ❑ OTHER (DESCRIBE)0'e-V_ 416"ru tc. 4b D DATE CITY MANAGER
