That the City engineer of the C®'by of yort Worth shall be a male residm t of said ditym not less than twenty-one years of age, and shall hold a degree in civil engineering of come standard oolleoe or university, and in ad'ition thereto shall have ]vdlat least three years actual experience in the practical work of his profession and no perdon not possessing these qualifications shall be eligible to this office. 8e092. Before entering upon th# duties of his office he shall tare the oath of office prescribed by the Constitution of the State and that he will obey the directions and orders of the Board of Cosimi.ssioners of +A% City of tort Forth, and faithfully perform the duties inounbebt en him by law# and'4 k shall also execute a hbond payable to the City of Fort Worth in the sum of Two Thousand ($2000) dollars with a Guaranty or Surety Company, authorized to do business in Texas, as Surety thereon, to be approved by the Beard of commissioners, conditioned for the faithful discharge of his duties in accordance with V the charter and ordinances of the City of F rt worth. w Soo. He shall furnish estimates of the value and costs of side walks, amosings, pavements, and sufiest the proper ingredients of same and furnish the Board of oommissioners the names of property holders having property abutting on such improvements or contemplated iaproveo rents, shoming every frontage or abutment on said streets and the amounts Oo be assessed against then. sec. 9. Tt shall be his duty to observe the character of buildings erected within the fire limits in the city of Fort Worth cad to see that the ordinance* of the City governing the kind and character of structures to be erected therein are striotlly observed and •nforced and to report to the props r officers violations of same. He shall also observe the grades of streets, and side walks in any port of the City and the ordinance relating thereto are obeyed and enforce, seo,ll, He shall issue building oertificates and prmits to persons applying for same and grade certificates of streets wid side walks and the numbers to be placed on houses, within the said City of Fort worth and he shall keep a set of books explanatory of same which shall be open to inspection during business heura, He shd l (J6 ect and pay into the C;ty t9oasurg to the credit of the gener und, fees for certificates and -wit psrmitsissued by hint which said fees shall be as follows to s For each house num r certifloate, twenty-five cents. For each permit of eve y otls r sort, tsfnty-five cents. For t; setting ,lines grade stakes for streets, alleys and side walks, per line foot, five cents. For settizsg lines and grade stakes r urbing and gutters per lineal toot$ four cenU. Sec. 12. He shjL 1 when rwquired so to do by the City assessor and collector furnish th4at officer a true and correct dsoription of the metes and bounds of any lot or portion of any lotm,of any block or any portion of any bloal7or of any tralot of land, of any part of same, lydng within the City limits, where such description is necessary or proper to aid In estimating the value of such land or in�obtaiuing the description thereof for assessment purposes* Sec. 13. Powall, relating to the duties , powers and qualifications of City engineer, be and the same are hereby repealed and ' all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance or any part thereof be and the same are hereby repealed• Sec. 16.
