HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997/12/09-Minutes-City Council-Executive Session AM r r SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING DECEMBER 9, 1997 Date & Time On the 9th day of December, A.D., 1997, the City Council of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, met in special session, at 5:25 p.m., with the following members and officers present: Attendance Mayor Kenneth Barr; Council Members Jim Lane, Chuck Silcox, Becky Haskin, Jeff Wentworth, and Clyde Picht. City Manager Bob Terrell; City Attorney Wade Adkins; City Secretary Alice Church. Council Members Ralph McCloud and Cathy Hirt were absent. With more than a quorum present, the following business was transacted: Executive It was the consensus of the City Council that the City Session Council will meet in a closed session at 5:25 p.m.: 1. To seek the advice of its attorneys concerning the following pending litigation and matters that are exempt from public disclosure under Article X, Section 9 of the Texas State Bar Rules: a) Regina Payton v. Fort Worth Rifle and Pistol Clubs, Inc. and City of Fort North, Cause No. 17-165853-96 b Artie M. Dawson v. City of Fort Worth, Cause No. 4:96-CY555Y c City of Fort Worth v. City of Dallas et al., Cause No. 17110997 d City of Dallas v. City of Fort Worth et al., Cause No. 397-CV 273 T as authorized by Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code. x CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING FORT WORTH, TEXAS DECEMBER 9, 1997 PAGE 2 2. To discuss the lease or purchase of real property, as authorized by Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code. The public discussion of this matter would have a detrimental effect on the position of the City in negotiations with a third party. 3. To deliberate concerning the evaluation of the City Manager, City Secretary, City Internal Auditor and City Attorney, as authorized by Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code. The City Council recessed this special meeting at 7:00 p.m., to go into the regular public meeting, and reconvened in this meeting at 9.05 p.m. Adjourned The City Council adjourned this meeting at 12.20 a.m., December 10, 1997.
