On September 18, 1979, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 7985 calling
a charter amendment election to be held on November 6, 1979.
As this election was not anticipated at the time the 1979-80 annual budget
was adopted, no provision was included in the budget for the expenses of
the election. It is now anticipated that the total expenses of the election
will be approximately $36,000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council:
1) Adopt a supplemental appropriation ordinance appropriating
$36,000 from the Fund Balance of the General Fund to the
Elections Activity, Account No. 11-50-00; and
2) Authorize payment of all expenses related to the election of
November 6, 1979, up to the amount of the $36,000 appropria-
tion.
