AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE
COMPANY BE ALLOWED TO FURNISH TELEPHONE SERVICE IN THE AREA
EMBRACING THE FORT WORTH ARMY AIR FIELD, SCHOOL AND BOMBER
PLANT ON THE SAME TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS HERETOFORE AND NOW
PREVAILING IN SAID AREA, AND PROVIDING THAT NO CHANGES WHAT—
EVER SHALL BE MADE IN THE RATES AND CHARGES EXISTING ON THE
DATE SAID AREA WAS ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH FOR THE
CHARACTER OF SERVICE BEING FURNISHED AND RENDERED IN THAT
AREA; PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE CUMULATIVE OF
ALL OTHER ORDINANCES REGULATING RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR
TELEPHONE SERVICE, EXCEPT INSOFAR AS THIS ORDINANCE MAY BE
IN DIRECT CONFLICT WITH PROVISIONS OF THOSE ORDINANCES, IN
WHICH INSTANCE SAID PROVISIONS ARE HEREBY EXPRESSLY REPEALED;
AND DESIGNATING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Worth has by amendments to its Charter,
adopted the 22nd day of July, 1944, substantially extended its corporate
boundaries; and,
WHEREAS, one of the areas duly annexed to the said City is the area
embracing the Army Air Field, School and Bomber Plant; and,
WHEREAS, the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company desires to continue
to render telephone service in said area at the rates and charges in ef—
fect at the time of said annexation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That until otherwise provided by appropriate regulation, the South—
western Bell Telephone Company is authorized to furnish and render,in
what is designated and known as the area embracing the Fort Worth Army
Air Field, School and Bomber Plant, the class and character of telephone
service heretofore and now being furnished and rendered in said area, upon
the terms, conditions and at the cost and charges prevailing in said area
at the time said area was annexed to the City of Fort Worth. The said
Company shall make no changes in its rules or regulations or in its
charges now governing the furnishing of telephone service in said area
unless duly authorized by the City Council in the exercise of its regula—
tory powers over the telephone company's rates and service.
SECTION 2.
That this ordinance shall be cumulative of all other ordinances regu—
lating rates to be charged for telephone service, except insofar as the
provisions of this ordinance may be in conflict with those ordinances,
in which instance those provisions are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 3.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after the date the aforesaid area was duly annexed to the City
of Fort North.
