HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9090 Corrected RevisedINFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS • •1'1 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council August 4, 2009 Page 1 of 1 SUBJECT: SUBMISSION OF 2009 CERTIFIED APPRAISAL ROLL AND CERTIFIED COLLECTION RATE The purpose of this Informal Report is to submit the 2009 Certified Appraisal Roll and the certified collection rate. Pursuant to Section 26.01 of the Texas Property Tax Code, by July 25 or as soon as practicable thereafter, the Chief Appraiser shall prepare and certify to the assessor for each taxing unit participating in the district that part of the appraisal roll for the district that lists the property taxable by the unit. On July 27, 2009, the Chief Appraisers of Tarrant County, Denton County, and Wise County prepared and certified the appraisal roll for the City of Fort Worth with less than 5% of property values still under protest. The 2009 Market Value is $46,123,055,984 and the Certified Net Taxable Value is $41,851,014,698. The 2008 certified values were $45,481,163,023 and $40,866,909,245, respectively. Taxable property values increased by $984,105,453 from the 2008 tax year. The corrected portion of the Informal Report is the 2009 Market Value amount. The earlier report included the values of protested properties from Denton County, while the other two counties' values did not. Section 26.04 of the Texas Property Tax Code requires the Tax Collector to certify the anticipated collection rate to the taxing unit for the current year. On June 18, 2009 Betsy Price, Tarrant County Tax Assessor /Collector certified the anticipated collection rate for the City of Fort Worth for tax year 2009 at 100 %. Dale A. Flsse e , P.E.
