AN ORDINANCE DECLARING NEWS STANDS LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF
TENTH AND HOUSTON STREETS, AT NINTH AND HOUSTON STREETS AND
SEVENTH AND MAIN STREETS AN ENCROACHMENT UPON THE SAID STREETS

SAID NUISANCE AND REMOVE SAI]' ENCROACHMENTS FROM SAID STREET
CORNERS.
WHEREAS, the City of Fort north under the terms of
its charter is vested with full power and control of the
streets, alleys and side walks of the city, with specific
delegated power to abate and punish any obstructions and
encroachments on the streets, side walks, curbings and
gutters of the city, and
WHEREAS, the news stands now located on Ninth Street
where the same intersects Houston Streat; on Tenth Street

where the same intersects Main Street, are obstructions upon
the side walk at said points, and
WHEREAS, said news stands have become a nuisance
in that they greatly interfere with the convenience of the
general public, causing great congestion at said corners,
obstructing the free passage of pedestrians at said points,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH.
SECTION f. That the news stands located on Ninth
Street where the same intersects Houston Street; on Tenth
Street where the same intersects Houston Street and on
Seventh Street where the same intersects'Main Street, be
and the same is hereby declared to be nuisances.
SECTION 2. That the news stands located on the
corner of Ninth Street where the same intersects Houston
Street; on Tenth Street where the same intersects Houston
Street and on Seventh Street where the same intersects
Main Street is hereby declared to be aft obstructionsand
enoroachmentsupon the said streets, at the points named.
SECTION 3. That the Chief of Police is hereby
ordered, directed and instructed to abate said nuisance and
�en,croackaments upon the streets as set out in Section One and
Two of this Ordinance and to remove the same.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage.
