AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING THE FIVE FOOT
UTILITY EASEMENT ADJACENT TO LOTS 1-A, 1-B, 1-C,
1-D AND 2, N. D. WHITTINGTON ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVID-
ING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY
OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the utility easement five (5) feet in width and
two hundred forty-two (242) feet in length adjacent to
Lots 1-A, 1-B, 1-C, 1-D and 2, N. D. Whittington Addition
to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, extending
from Meadowbrook Drive southward to a point five (5) feet
north of the south lines of Lots 1-D and 2 of said Addition,
be and the same is hereby extinguished, vacated, closed and
permanently abandoned as an easement for public utilities.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee
to the land in said easement above described is hereby re-
leased and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as
provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

Safeway Stores, Inc. , has requested that the City vacate a utility easement
itl elt�N `.'5 feet in width and 242 feet in length adjacent to Tots 1-A, 1-B, 1-C, 1-D
and 2, N. D. Whittington Addition, from near Meadowbrook Drive southward
to a point ,5 feet north of the south lines of Tots 1-D and 2, as shown on
the attached map.
Subject easement, acquired by dedication, has in the past contained too
telephone branch feeder cables. These cables have been satisfactorily
relocated.
The City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this
request and have no objections. The City Plan Commission has reviewed
this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the easement
as requested.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject easement
as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
