HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9068INFORMAL REPORT TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS No. 9068 To the Mayor and Members of the City Council June 16, 2009 ANT Page 1 of 2 SUBJECT: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act — Weekly Update The purpose of this report is to provide the City Council with regular updates regarding the efforts of the City of Fort Worth and its regional partners to successfully apply for and secure grant funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). The ARRA Community Task Force will continue to meet twice each month to share information about possible funding resources. The following information will be posted on the city's website by Tuesday, June 16, 2009. Local O anization COMPETITIVE Source of Recovery Funding -FUNDS Project Descri tion Fundin R uested City of Fort Worth Safe Drinking Water — State Provides for construction of a $ 2,000,000.00 City of Fort Worth Water Marketing and Contributes to fund construction $ 5,000,000.00 Water Department Efficiency Grant of a distribution line for delivery Bureau of Reclamation of reclaimed water processed U.S. Dept. of the Interior by the Village Creek City of Fort Worth Safe Drinking Water - Green Wastewater Treatment Plant $ 24,000,000.00 Please note that the reclaimed water distribution project at the Village Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is eligible to be submitted for multiple funding sources. However, should both be awarded, the City will only be able to utilize one funding source. For competitive grants, the City of Fort Worth has submitted three applications seeking a total of $797,674.00. Approvals of these grant applications are pending. Water Department has submitted projects for consideration for revolving loans for $26,000,000.00. During the week of June 8, 2009, we delivered two presentations about the City's applications for ARRA funding, coordination with our community allies and our website dedicated to ARRA. Presentations were made to the monthly meeting of the Workforce Development Board and one sponsored by the Historically Underutilized Business Program at the University of Texas at Arlington, in conjunction with the Minority Business Enterprise Center.
