HomeMy WebLinkAboutIR 9039The May 5 City Council agenda will contain an M&C to initiate the zoning process for 4100 block of
Golden Triangle Boulevard, 2700 block of Keller Hicks Road, and 10900 block of Old Denton Road,
which lie south of Keller Hicks Road, east of Old Denton Road, and north of Golden Triangle
Boulevard. The purpose of the proposed zoning changes is to rezone vacant land to zoning
classifications that are consistent with the 2009 Comprehensive Plan and proposed uses of the
property owners, Keller Independent School District and the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church.
The suggested -CF" Community Facilities zoning district is an appropriate zoning district for schools
and churches, which are permitted in all future land use classifications.
For your reference, the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the proposed
2009 Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. Councilmember Espino
mailed letters to the affected property owners regarding the proposed zoning changes in November
2008. No response or opposition has been expressed to date by Keller Independent School
District. The Lighthouse Assembly of God noted concern about removing the multifamily zoning but
did not indicate the proposed zoning would conflict with the church's mission.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on June 10, at the Zoning
Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of July 7.

Director, at 817-392-8018.
