D. 192� FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING NINt COMC ILry M' FOR SAID CITY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE C ITY CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT FORTH: SECTION I. That in compliance with the Charter of the City of Fort Worth and in accordance with the lags and Con- stitution of the State of Texas, an, election be and the same is hereby'onlled and ordered for the first Tuesday after the first Monday in April, A. D. 1927, the same being the 5th day of April, A. D. 1927, at which election all qualified voters of said City may vote for the purpose of electing nine Councilmen. SECTION II. That the Secretary-Treasurer of said City shall prepare ballots to be used in said election and shall stamp same "Official Ballot" on which ballot shall be printed the names of the candidates for said Council. The places of the different councilmen shallbbe designated on the official ballot as member of council place number 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. SECTION III. That no person's name shall be placed upon the official ballot as a candidate for member of said council unless that person's name has been presented to the City Secretary-Treasurer not less than thirty days prior to the date of said election by a petition signed by three hundred or more qualified voters of said City in ink or in indelible pencil, together with the home or business address of each person who has signed said petition and it must also appear on the face of said petition, the number of the place that the said candidate is seeking and that the said petition of each candidate has been separately circulated. SECTION IT. That it shall further appear before said candidateb name is entered on said ballot that such candidate has filed with the City Secretary-Treasurer a written acceptance of his or her nomination not less than twenty days before the date of said election. SECTION T. That in the event that there are two or more can- didates for the same place as a member of the council, the position of the names of such candidates on the ballot shall be determined by placing them in the alphabetical order of their sirnames. SECTION TI. That each voter shall vote for his choice candidate by striking from the ballot the names of all the candidates for whom the said voter does not wish to vote and shall vote -2- for one candidate only for each place. SECTION VII. That the polls shall be kept open from 8:00 o'clock A. M. rUd 7:00 o'clock P. M. and that due return be made showing the number of votes cast toe and the number of votes cast against each candidate to the City Council as soon as practicable following the date of said election. SECTION VIII. That this ordinance signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Secretary-Treasurer shall constitute the pro- clamation of the Mayor calling and ordering said election and that such notice shall be published in the official newspaper of the City of Fort Worth once a week for four weeks prior thereto, and that the City Secretary-Treasurer is hereby directed to post or cause to be posted a# least thirty days before said election at the voting place in each ward a notice stating the time of holding this election and the officies to be filled, which said notice shall be signed by the Mayor. SECTION IX. That the polling placed for this election and the personnel of the officers who are to hold the same, except in so far as they may be changed by the City Council of said City, shall be as follows: WARD VOTING PLACE & LOCATION JUDGE 1st.
