AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FUR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
AN ANNUAL DIRECT AD VALOREM TAX ON ALL PROPERTY, REAL,
PERSONAL AND �, SITUATED WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, AND ALL PER-
SONAL PROPERTY OWNED IN SAID CITY OF FORT WORTS, TEXAS,
ON THE FIRST DAY OF TANUARY, A. D. 1936, EKCSPT SUM
PROPERTY AS MAY BE E MCPT FROM TAXATION gY THE CONSTI-
TUTION AND LAWS OF TEE STATE OF TEXAS.
HE IT ORDAINED BY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH,
TEXAS:
SECTION I.
There is hereby levied and shall be collected, as provided by
law, an annual direct special ad valorem tax for the year 195&for the
support and maintenance of a free Public Library in the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, of three cents (30) on every One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) valuation
on all property, real, personal and mixed, situated in and all personal
property owned in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on the first day of
January, A. D. 1936, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt there-
from by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas.
SECTION II.
There is also hereby levied and there shall be collected, as

provided by law, an annual direct special ad valorem tax for the year 1m,
for the use and benefit of the Park Fund of the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
of nine cents (91f) on every One Hundred Dollar (*100.00) valuation on all
property, real, personal and mixed, situated in and all personal property
owned in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on the first day of January, A. D.
1935, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by the
Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, which levy, in the aggregate
sum of nine cents (9¢), as aforesaid, shall be and is hereby apportioned:
For Park operation, maintenance, upkeep and to pay maturities and
interest on park notes and warrants, 9 cents.

notes and warrants.- offer this amount s been transferred to
Park Interest and Sinking Fund, the ruing current tax collec-
tions will revert to the Park General Fund, as well as all delinquent
- taxes collected for prior years.
SECTION III.
There is also hereby levied and there shall be collected, as
provided by law, an annual direct special ad valorem tax for the year 4W.
for the use and benefit of the Recreation Fund of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, of two cents (890 on every One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) valuation
on all property, real, personal and mixed, situated in and all personal
property owned in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, on the first day of Tannery,
A. D. 1936, liable under the law to taxation and not exempt therefrom by
the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas, which levy, in the aggregate f
sum of two cents ($9(), as aforesaid, shall be and is hereby apportioned:
For Recreation operation, maintenance, upkeep and to pay maturi-
ties and interest on Recreation notes and warrants, 3 cents. p�

tax collections will revert to the Recreation General Fund, as
well as all delinquent taxes collected for prior years.
SECTION TV.
That there is also hereby levied and there shall be collected, as
provided by law, an annual direct special ad valorem tax for the year ia66,
for General Fund operations and for servicing of General Fend obligations
outstanding of the said City, of Fort Worth, of 1.61 dollars on every One
Hundred Dollar ($100.00) valuation on all property, real, personal and mixed,
situated in and all personal property owned in the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
on the first day of January, A. D. 1936, liable under the law to taxation
and not exempt therefrom by the Constitution and laws of the State of Texas.
The Commissioner of Accounts shall pay each week to the Interest and Sinking
Fund forty-five (45) per cent of the current taxes collected for General
Fund operations and debt service until�5,900.OU has been paid to the
Interest and Sinking Fund, after which all of said collections will remain
in the General Fund. In this way the General Fund will absorb any Interest
and Sinking Fund delinquencies and in consideration of which will receive all
delinquent tax collections the entire year. The servicing of General Fund
obligations outstanding shall be and is hereby apportioned for the use and
benefit of the said several series of bonds of the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
as follows, respectively:

SECTION V.
That these special tax levies, which are hereinbefore made, to
provide for the payment of interest and to create a sinking fund or to dis-
charge and pay principal and interest on any obligations due or owing by
the City of Fort Worth, Texas, are not to be taken as in addition to levies
for the same purpose in the respective ordinances authorising and creating
such obligations, but the levies hersinbefore made are made pursuant to and
for the purpose of carrying out and camplying with the provisions of said
prior ordinances, and ad valorem taxes herein are levied upon all taxable
property, real, personal and mixed, situated in and all personal property
owned in the City of Fort Worth, Texas, as assessed, valued and described
in the assessment tax rolls and the tax books of the City of Fort Worth, Texas,
for the year IM, and any supplemental assessments thereof, as the same have
been or shall be presented to the City Council of the City of Fort Worth,
Texas, by the Assessor and Collector of Taxes of said City of Fort Worth, Texas.
SSECCTION VI.
That the taxes herein levied and authorized and required to be
collected shall be and become due and payable in two equal installments.
The first installment, which amount shall be fifty (50%) per cent of the
total sum of the taxes due and payable for the current year, shall be due and
payable on the first day of October, A. D. , and the second installment,
which amount shall be the remaining fifty (50%) per cent of the total sum due
and payable in taxes for the current year, shall become due and payable on
the first day of April, A. D. 1,M.
SECTION VII.
The first installment of taxes required to be paid by virtue of
this ordinance for the current year shall become delinquent on the first
day of December, A. D. ISM, and the second installment of taxes required
to be paid by virtue of this ordinance for the current year shall become de-
linquent on the first day of June, A. D. 1157.
SECTION VIII.
Should any taxpayer permit his taxes to become delinquent, that is
to say, should fail or refuse to pay the first installment, said installment
being fifty (50) per cent of the total amount of taxes due for the current
year, before the first day of December, A. D. ION, as above specified, then
and in that event, the second installment shall also immediately become due
and delinquent and a penalty shall attach to the payment of such taxes at
the rate of one (1) per cent per mouth, or fraction thereof, for each month
thereafter; and should any taxpayer pay the first installment of his taxes
as hereinabove provided, but should permit the second installment of his taxes
to become delinquent, that is to say, should fail or refuse to pay said second
installment before the first day of Tare, A. D. tW7, as above specified, then
the penalty shall attach to the payment of the second installment at the rate
of one (1) per cent per month, or fraction thereof, on each month thereafter.
SECTION Ia.
That said penalty of one (1) per cent per month shall be added to
said taxes in the event the payment thereof should become delinquent as above
set forth and said penalty shall attach on the first day of each month there-
after, until the taxes shall have been paid, which penalty shall be and become
a part of said taxes and be payable as such; and provided further that in the
event of the publication of the delinquent tax lists, or if suit is brought to
recover such taxes and penalties and the delinquent taxpayer shall be subject
to the payment of said taxes, penalties and costs, and the same shall be and
become a lien upon the property of such taxpayer, as prescribed by the Charter
of the City of Fort Worth, Texas, and the laws of the State of Texas, the said
taxes with penalties and costs shall be and become and they are hereby made a
paramount lien to all other liens whatsoever on the property on which said taxes
are levied.
SECTION Z.
Should any part, portion, section or part of a section of this ordin-
ance be declared invalid or inoperative or void for any reason by a court of
competent jurisdiction, such decision, opinion or judgment shall in no way
affect the remaining portions, parts, sections or parts of sections of this
ordinance, which provision shall be, remain and continue to be in full force
and effect.
SHCTION %I.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in Rill force and
effect from and after the date of its passage as provided by lax.
