The purpose of this Informal Report is to provide City Council with information regarding a proposed
Neighborhood Empowerment Zone tax abatement.
Chapter 378 of the Texas Local Government Cade provides that a municipality can offer are abatement of
municipal property taxes for properties located in a Neighborhood Empowerment Zone.
The municipal property tax on the unproved value of the home after its construction is estimated at
$792.301, per year, for a total of $3,962.50 over the fide -year period. However, this estimate may differ
from the actual tax abatement value, which will be calculated based on the TAD appraised value of the
property.
In the event the property is sold., the agreements may be assigned without subsequent City Council approval
to the owners' first mortgagee, or to a ho ebuyer who will use the required improvements as his /her
primary residence, or to that o m buy 's mortgagee. as long as the eligibility criteria as stated in the NE:
Tax Abatement Policy and Basic Incentives are met. All ether assignments must be approved by the City
Council.

On October- 13, 2008, the Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission APPROVED as
submitted the Certificate of Appropriateness to:

5. wrap around porch with 1 x 4 tongue & groove floor

The Historic and Cultural Landmarks Commission or Historic Preservation Officer must approve
work not included in this Certificate of Appropriateness prior to the issuance of a building
permit. Approval of your case does not negate you from any other applicable requirements
needed to obtain required permits. If necessary, you must obtain all required variances before a
Certificate of Appropriateness or building permit will be issued.
