AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT EAST EIGHTH STREET
BETWEEN THE EAST LINE OF ELM STREET AND THE EAST
LINE OF BLOCK 130, ORIGINAL TOWN (SOMETIMES CALLED
"CITY ADDITION") , A DISTANCE OF 624 FEET, BE VA-
CATED, ABANDONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE
REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That East Eighth Street between the east line of Elm Street
and the east line of Block 130, Original Town (sometimes
called "City Addition") , a distance of 624 feet, be and the
same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as
a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character what-
ever, save and except that easements are reserved for any
and all existing utilities.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to
the land in said street is hereby released and shall revert
to the adjacent owners of the fee as provided by law.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after the date of its passage.

The five property owners listed below who abut East 8th Street east of Elm
Street have requested the closing of the street as shown on the attached map.
Private utility companies and the City Public Works, Water, Traffic Engineer-
ing, and Planning Departments have reviewed the request and do not object to
the closing, provided easements are retained for existing utilities . The
street is not open on the ground, and is not needed for traffic .circdlatio.n in
the area or access to properties ,
The City Plan Commission recommends adoption of an ordinance closing East 8th
Street between Elm Street and the east line of Block 130, Original Town, sub-
ject to retaining easements for existing utilities
