Mr. Allen P. Grage, owner of all adjoining property, has requested the
vacation of the eight foot easement along the common lot line of Lots 2 and
3, Block 7, Monticello Addition, as shown on the attached map. Abandonment
of the easement will permit the construction of patios in connection with
-duplexes now under construction on Lots 2 and 3. A gas main, previously lo-
cated in the easement, has been relocated at the expense of the applicant.
Private utility companies and City departments have reviewed the request and
do not object to the proposed vacation. The City Plan Commission has reviewed
the request and recommends adoption of the ordinance that has been prepared
vacating the easement as requested, except the portion of the easement which
lies in the east-west utility easement at the rear of both lots, as shown on
the attached map within the broken lines. Retention of the easement at the
rear of the properties will not affect the building plans of the applicant.
City Council action on the Plan Commission recommendation is requested.
