AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING TMT THE EAST-WEST ALLEY
IN BLOCK 12, K. M. VAN ZANDT'S ADDITION, SECOND
FILMIC, FROM NORWOOD STREET TO UNIVERSITY DRIVE,
BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSffi7 PROVIDING FOR
THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT
WORTH IN SAID LAW; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITHi AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
That the east-west alley in Block 12, K. X. Van Zandt's
Addition, Second Filing, an addition to the City of Fort
Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, from Norwood Street to Univer-
sity Drive, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and
permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of
any kind or character whatever.
SECTION 2.
That the interest of the City of Fort worth in the fee
to the land in said portion of the alley is hereby released
and shall revert to the adjacent owners of the fee :s provided
by law, save and except that easements are reserved for any
and all existing utilities.
SECTION 3.
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.
That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after the date of its passage.

first Fidelity Savings Association and Texaco, Inc. , owners of all
abutting property, have requested that the City vacate the east-west
alley in Block 12, K. M. Van Zandt's Addition, 2nd Filing. The
alley from Norwood Street to University Drive is a width of 16 feet
and a length of 255 feet and is shown on the attached maps. The
subject right-of-way, acquired by dedication, is unpaved. The pro-
posed use of the vacated right-of-way is anticipated expansion of
building and parking area.
City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this
request and have no objections subject to the retention of the entire
right-of-way as an easement for existing utilities.
The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends
adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as re-
quested. A satisfactory replat has been submitted.
Recommendation
It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating the subject
right-of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
