HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 6724 ORDINANCE NO. 6914 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY IN BLOCK 43, HYDE JENNINGS SUBDIVISION OF JENNINGS SOUTH ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM PETER SMITH STREET SOUTH TO TUCKER STREET, BE ABANDONED, VACATED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the north-south alley in Block 43, Hyde Jennings Subdivision of Jennings South Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, from Peter Smith Street south to Tucker Street, be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently abandoned as an alley or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort Worth in the fee to the land in said alley is hereby released and shall revert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law, save and ex- cept that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. V-70-34 I or /,/ V�/ The Woman's Club of Fort Worth, owner of all adjoining property, has requested that the City vacate the north-south alley in Block 43 (north of Tucker Street) from Peter Smith Street south to Tucker Street, as shown on the attached map. Subject right-of-way, acquired by dedica- tion, is paved and there are existing utility facilities located therein. City departments and private utility companies have reviewed this request and have no objections provided the vacated "right-of-way is retained as a utility easement. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating the public right-of-way as requested. Recommendation It is recommended that an ordinance be adopted vacating subject right- of-way as recommended by the City Plan Commission.
