SUBJECT: Proposed Council- Initiated Zoning Changes for the
10300 Block of W. Cleburne Road
The August 5 City Council agenda will contain an M &C to initiate the zoning process for the
10300 block of W. Cleburne Road that lies east of Hulen Street and W. Cleburne Road,
south of McPherson Road, and west of Old Crowley Cleburne Road. The purpose of the
proposed zoning changes is to rezone vacant land and infrastructure to zoning
classifications that are consistent with the 2008 Comprehensive Plan. For your reference,
the attached PowerPoint presentation shows the future land use from the 2008
Comprehensive Plan, the current zoning, and the proposed zoning. Councilmember Jordan
mailed letters to the affected property owners regarding the proposed zoning changes in
March 2008. No response or opposition has been expressed to date.
The public hearings for the rezoning of these properties would be held on September 10,
2008, at the Zoning Commission meeting and at the City Council meeting of October 14.
