Qo4 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT EWING STREET FROM THE EAST LINES OF LOT 1, BLOCK 23, AND LOT 1, BLOCK 27, RIDGECREST ADDITION TO THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY, TEXAS, WESTWARD TO THE EAST RIGHT- OF-WAY LINE OF U. S. HIGHWAY 377, BE VACATED, ABAN- DONED AND CLOSED; PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF THE INTEREST OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH IN SAID LAND; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the following described portion of Ewing Street between Blocks 23 and 27, Ridgecrest Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas, according to plat re- corded in Vol. 388-18, page 34, of the Plat Records of Tar- rant County, Texas, be and the same is hereby closed, abandoned and permanently vacated as a street or public thoroughfare of any kind or character whatever, save and except that easements are reserved for any and all existing utilities: peginning at a point in the north line of Ewing Street, said point being N. 77045' W. 21.72 feet from the southeast corner of Lot 1, Block 23, Ridgecrest Addition; Thence S. 12015' W. 60.0 feet to a point in the south line of Ewing Street, said point being the beginning of a curve to the right having a radius of 664.86 feet; Thence Northwesterly along the south line of Ewing Street and along said curve 135.76 feet to the end of said curve; Thence N. 66005' W., continuing along the south line of Ewing Street 157.05 feet to a point in the easterly line of U.S. Highway No. 377; Thence N. 23057' E. along said easterly line 60.0 feet to a point in the north line of Ewing Street; Thence S. 66005' E. along the north line of Ewing Street 157.05 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left having a radius of 604.86 feet; Thence Southeasterly continuing along the north line Gof Ewing Street and along said curve 123.51 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. That the interest of the City of Fort worth in the fee to the land in said street is hereby released and shall re- vert to the adjacent owner of the fee as provided by law. SECTION 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage. S Frank Maddox, owner of .all abutting property, has reqquested that the City vacate Ewing Street in the 7500 block a width of �60 feet and a length of+approximately 290 feet from the east lines of Lot 1, Block 23, and Lot 1, Block 27, Ridgecrest Addition, westward to the east right-of-way line of U. S. Kighway 377, as shown on the attached map. The subject right-of-way was acquired by dedication when a plat of the property abutting Ewing Street and "the instrument dedicating the right-of-wway for Ewing Street w4s approved, filed and recorded in 1958. However,. the dedicated align- ment of Ewing Street is not consistent with .the alignment on the ground of the existing street improvements. The purpose of this request is to resolve that discrepancy. City departmentg and private utility:, companies have reviewed this request and recommend that subject right-of-way be vacated provided a replat is submitted that includes necessary easement for existing utilities and dedication of.a 60" right-of-way for Ewing Street that is in alignment with the existing street im- provements. A satisfactory replat has been submitted to the City staff. The City Plan Commission has reviewed this -request and recommends adoption of an ordinance vacating subject right-of-way as requested.
