Kayser, City Secretary With a quorum of the City Council Members present, Mayor Price called the Fort Worth City Council Work Session to order at 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in City Council Conference Room 290 of the Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas Street, Fort Worth, Texas. 1. Report of the City Manager-David Cooke, City Manager a. Changes to the City Council Agenda There were no changes. b. Mr. Cooke also announced that the Tuesday, March 1 Oth Council meeting is cancelled. (NLC - Washington, March 8th-1lth and FWISD Spring Break, March 9th-13th) The next Council meeting scheduled is on Tuesday, March 17th. c. Organizational Updates and Employee Recognition(s) City Manager David Cooke announced Dana Burghdoff as Assistant City Manager, officially dropping the Interim title and announced that Jay Chapa is now the Deputy City Manager. Mayor Price announced Laken Rapier's 40 under 40 Recognition Deputy City Manager, Jay Chapa introduced Kim Neal as the Police Monitor and Denise Rodriguez as Deputy Police Monitor. d. Current Agenda Items - City Council Members City Manager David Cooke noted that M&C 20-0139 is related to ongoing work on the Trinity River Vison project. Update on Coronavirus from City Officials and Tarrant County Public Health Officials —Chief Jim Davis, Fire and Russ Jones,Tarrant County Public Health Epidemiology Manager Fire Chief Jim Davis and and Russ Jones, Tarrant County Public Health Epidemiology Manager provided a briefing on Coronavirus and public health strategies. 6. Briefing on Proposed Improvements to Heritage Park—Fernando Costa, City Manager's Office,Andy Taft,Downtown Fort Worth, Inc. and Missy Gale, M. Gale & Associates Assistant City Manager Fernando Costa; Andy Taft, Downtown Fort Worth, Inc; and Missy Gale, M. Gale & Associates provided a briefing on proposed improvements to Heritage Park and Paddock Park. Included in the briefing were the vision, funding sources, budget and next steps. 7. Presentation on the Best Place for Kids and Working Parents Initiative— Mattie Parker, Mayor and Council Office, Sara Redington, Miles Foundation and Cheraya Pena,Best Place for Kids Mattie Parker, Mayor and Council Office; Sara Reddington, Miles Foundation; and Cheraya Pena, Best Place for Kids briefed the Council on the Best Place for Kids and City of Fort Worth Page 4 Printed on 311212020 CITY OF FORT WORTH,TEXAS CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MEETING TUESDAY, MARCH 3,2020 Page 5 of 5 Working Parents Initiative. 8. Presentation of the Fiscal Year 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report —Reginald Zeno, Financial Management Services Reginald Zeno, Financial Management Services presented the Fiscal Year 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. 9. City Council Requests for Future Agenda Items and/or Reports Mayor Pro Tern Jordan- 1) reconciliation of major project funding and any surplus funds; 2) Ir on volunteers ability to drive city vehicles, particularly Fire canteen Council Members Bivens and Flores - IR on using speed plates as traffic calming devices Council Member Bivens - Public Art in District 5 10.
