AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ABANDONMENT,
CLOSING AND VACATING OF AN ALLEYWAY BISECTING BLOCK
EIGHT (8) OF THE REVISED PLAT OF MoCONNELL ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TEXAS, RECORDED IN BOOK 106,
PAGE 72, DEED RECORDS OF TARRANT COITITY, TEXAS, AND
BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS AN ALLEW AY
THIRTEEN FEET WIDE, THE NORTH LINE OF WHICH BEGINS AT
A POINT ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTEEN FEET SOUTH OF THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID BLOCK AND RUNNING DUE TEST
FOUR HUt1D RED AND FIFTY FEET, THE LENGTH OF THE BLOCK,
THENCE SOUTH THIRTEEN FEET TO A POINT ONE h-UNDRED AND
FIFTEEN FEET NORTH OF THE SOUT17EST CORNEP. OF SAID
BLOCK, THENCE FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY FEET DUE EAST TO
A POINT ON THE WEST LINE OF TROOST STREET, ONE HUNDPED
AND FIFTEEN FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID
BLOCK NUF,1BER EIGHT (8), THENCE THIRTEEN FEET NORTH TO
THE PLACE OF BEGINNING; ALL OF SAID ALLEYWAY BEING
WITHIN THE BOUNDAPIES OF BLOCK N!JVBER EIGHT (8) AFOFX—
SAID; AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ALL ORDINANCES OR
PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.

WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the
City of Fort Worth, Texas, that the alleyway thirteen feet
wide bi—secting Block 8 of the revised plat of MoCormell
Addition to the City of Fort Worth, Texas, plat recorded in
Book 108, Page 72, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas,
being more particularly described, as follows :
An alleyway 13 feet wide, the north line of which
begins at a point 115 feet south of the northeast corner
of said block,and running due west 450 feet, the length of
the block, thence south 13 feet to a point 115 feet, north
of the southwest corner of said block, thence 450 feet due
east to a point on the west line of Trooat Street, 115 feet
north of the southeast- corner of said Block No. 8, thence
13 feet north to the place of beginning,
has never been used as an alley or thoroughfare or any kind;
and that said open—way is praotioally closed by- concrete
improvements located in said block, and for all practical
purposes cannot be used for a public thoroughfare; and that
the Fort Worth Realty Company of Fort Worth, Texas, being
the owner of all of Block 8 in said addition, and all of
the lots and property abutting thereon, has petitioned that
said alley he closed, vacated and permanently abandoned;
and it further appearing that it will be for the best in-
terests of said petitioner and of the public generally that
the same be closed, tacated and permanently abandoned as
any kind or character of a passageway or thoroughfare;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:
SECTION I
That that certain open-way, passageway and alley-
way situated in Block 8, bi-setting the same, and 13 feet
wide, and more particularly described by metes and bounds
as follows, to-wit:
An alleyway 13 feet wide, the north line of which
begins at a point 115 feet south of the northeast corner
of said block, and running due west 450 feet, the length of
the block, thence south 13 feet to a point 115 feet, north
of the southwest corner of said block, thence 450 feet due
east to a point on the west line of Troost Street, 115 feet
north of the southeast corner of said Block No. 8, thence
13 feet north to the place of beginning,
be and the same is hereby vacated, closed and permanently
abandoned as an alley, passageway and thoroughfare of any
kind or character.
SETION II
That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III
A strip of land six feet wide running through
said Block 8, described as follows: .
Beginning at a point 110 feet south of the
northeast corner of said Block; thence west with the
south line of Lots A to J in said Block, according to
the map of Dixie Park Addition as laid out and platted
by Brookes Baker January 13th, 1926, recorded in Volume
902, Page 185, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas,
450 feet to a point 110 feet south of the Northwest
corner of said Block; thence south six feet with the
present west line of said block to a point in said west
line; thence east 450 feet parallel to the south line
of the lots aforesaid to a point in the present east
line in said Block; thence north six feet to place of
beginning,
is hereby perpetually reserved and the dedication there—
of agreed to by the block owner petitioning the closing
of the alley aforesaid for use of public utilities, such
as sewer, water and gas lines and poles and wires, and
for any other public purpose of a similar character atad
such reservation and dedication shall operate a covenant
running with the land for the benefit of the public in
the manner and way aforesaid.
SECTION IV
That this ordinance shall take effect and be
in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage.
