OL AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A BOND, LICENSE AND PERMIT FOR THE
BUILDING OR REBUILDING OR REPAIRING OF SIDEWALK, CURBS AND GUTTERS ON
THE STREETS AND PUBLIC THOROUGHFARES OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, FIXING
PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION, PROVIDING FOR FORFEITURE OF LICENSES, AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT WITH SAME.
BE IT ORDA3ND BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
FORT WORTH, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
That hereafter, no person or persona, firm or corporAtl on shall
lay, construct, build, repair, or rebuild any sidevAlk, verb, curbing

or gutter on any street, alley or thatbughfare within sAid City, with-
out having first applied to the Commissioner of Streets & Public property

of said City for a license to do such work, and havig made and executed
a Bond to said City in the sum of $1000.00, and ha ng paid a license
fee of $2.00, and having obtained a Permit from t e City Engineer of
said City to do such work.
SECTION II.
The license hereinat mentioned, eh 1 be issued by the Com-
miasioner of Streets & paliolProperty, and afore the issuance of
same, the applicant shall file:in the offic of the City Secretary a
Bond in the sum of $1000.00 con'gitioned t t during the continuance of
said license, said applicant will",indemn y and save harmless the City
of Fort Worth from any and all damdges f every character, arising from
or caused directly or inditeetly by any negligence in the doing of such
work, or from any imperfect or inadequate work done by the applicant.
The applicant shall also state, in his application for license,
his place of business and the name under which the business is to be
transacted, and shall notify the City Secretary immediately, of any
and every change in address or style of his firm.
All such Bonds shall be subject to the approval of the Board
of Commissioners of said City, and shall run for a period of one year
from their date, or until revoked, as hereinafter provided.

SECTION III.
After such license is issued, as hereinabove provided, the
licensee shall obtain a permit from the City Engineer of said City
for doing any such work as hereinabove set forth, and plans and speci-
fications, grades and lines for said work, and all such work shall be
done aerarftng to said plans and specifications, grades and lines, and
shall at all times, be subject to the inspection and approval of said
City Engineer or other person designated for such work by him.
Immediately upon the completion of each and every such work,
the contractor shall apply for and obtain from the said City Engineer
a Certificate, stating in substance, that such work has been completed
according to the plans and specifications, grades and line given by

SECTION IV.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of the preceding Sections hereof, shall be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be fined XXy in any sum not to
exceed $20Q.00 and in addition thereto, the final conviction or any
such violation shall of itself constitute and be a recision and canoellar
tion of the license held by person or persons, firm or corporation so
convicted and in such event, no new license shall be is%ed for a period
of one year.
SECTION V.
All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith,
are hereby repealed.
SECTION VI.
This Ordinnaee shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and publication, as required by law.
I hereby certify, that the above and foregoing ordinance was duly
presented and unanimously passed by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Fort Worth at a session of said Board held Tuesday May 30th,1911.
